I’m sure this is well made for its purpose but this thing is tiny. Not big enough for any shop vac.

Needs to be bigger.
First impression is that it appears to be very well made. It is made of a cast aluminum alloy with a sandblasted textured (paintable) finish. However it is quite small. The inlet and outlet diameter is 1 1/8" OD. To mount this in the lid of a bucket you would need to drill a opening 3 1/16". I like the fact that the way it mounts would give you a lower profile to the bucket (possibly less tip over) as it's profile is only 2 1/4" high above the lid. Over all height is 7 1/4", 5" extends into the bucket. It is mounted using three 3/16" diameter bolts (not supplied) I really want to like this product but it's overall size is just to small for my purpose. If the manufacturer could scale the product up to where the inlet and outlet diameters were say 2", 4", 6" respectfully, they would have a real winner. In conclusion, for someone who uses tools with smaller diameter dust ports such as palm Sanders or jig saws, I believe this one is a winner. I will give it 4 stars, only because of it's size. Hope this is helpful to you.

very tiny, and did not work that well

works as expected for spackle
I used 3 of these small unit to make a 5 gallon bucket inline separator that can be removed. no this was not made for woodworking thou it might work okay for that, it does not have the 2" or larger air flow and suction for that. come on, its just a 1 inch intake on these small units. but that being said, I put 3 in line to remove as much dust as possible with minimum vacuum loss before the vacuum's filter. the main input is a 2'x1-1/4" hose fitting to the vacuum. the rest is 1-1/4 small shop vac hose. using odd sized hose clamps and a 5 gallon salt bucket I had sitting around the garage. the plan was to remove Spackle dust, not wood dust, from getting into the shop vac's filter when sanding without adding water. [I do not want that slurry of wet mud getting everywhere] so far they work well. not that it removes everything before the filter, but the filter can be used the whole day. since then we also tried adding an additional paper filter in the vac to capture even more dust. Spackle dust getting in the house was the main concern. it does work great on everything else as well. but my idea was not made for that. to sum it up, I use an inline lite weight 3/4" hose bought with 2 gallon bucket inline [with no water added], connect to this inline 1-1/4" tri unit, connected to a 30 foot extension hose to the shop vac which is outside the work area due to noise. FYI - covering the vac with an empty hard plastic trashcan will also cut out a lot of noise. thou it will heat up the vac a bit.

Very small
Bought it for a 5 gallon bucket.

Small, but perfectly formed vortex dust separator
As the listing says, these things are smaller than ones used for shop vacs, the intake is 1" in diameter, not 2".That happens to be just what I was looking for, a small, high quality separator unit. They are very cool looking, die cast aluminum vortex units, with a shape and internal structure that appears to support their claim that it is a "2nd generation" unit. These would be used in clusters in a large industrial dust removal system, like the banks of vortex units inside a Dyson vacuum.

This one works with shop vac's that have 1-1/4" diameter hose
Did a normal mount to the lid of a five gallon bucket using a piece of plywood under the lid. The supplied adapters don't completly solve all the connections. Made two adapter rings from 3/4: pine. Used some gorilla tape to attach them. Had a hose from a dead vaccume to connect to the input. This unit works GREAT captures over 99% of the saw dust. Removed the bag in my shop vac to increase air flow. Almost 0% saw dust in the Vac.

Prodotto pessimo
