Good replacement for a filament torch bulb.
Bought this as a replacement for a filament bulb in a rechargeable torch (not a Maglite). Beam is same shape as the old bulb, but brighter, much whiter (though colour is actually warm-white), current drawn from batts is approx half that of filament bulb (which was 3w non-halogen).If anyone really IS interested- power drawn by this led from 6.4v (ie 5x NiCd batts) = 220mA. This is about 1.4W power consumption. (I tried various other voltages, and power is always about 1.4W if supply > 5v. Below this voltage, power drops a bit, but never < 1W.) Just for those who are curious to know. In one sentence- batteries in my torch should last >2x longer, beam is much better in every way.

Quite bright
Not as bright as I had hoped but I guess the battery will now last longer!

Works well as a replacement.
Bought for some ten year old Eveready hand held lanterns. Took seconds to replace bulb. Good brightness, the beam isn't quite as tightly focussed as it was but there's a bright central beam and a good diffuse area around it. Happy with outcome. Hopefully will also prolong battery life.

Well Recommended
I used one bulb in an old aluminium torch I've had over 20 years which used a filament bulb. The torch has 2 'C' batteries (3 volts) and it has transformed it. The light is several times as bright and a brilliant white, incredible. The second bulb (the same type) I used in my front bike lamp which is also quite elderly. It used a 4.8 volt filament bulb with 4 x 'AA' batteries. Again the transformation is incredible, its gone from yellow glow to brilliant white and several times as bright, So this bulb can certainly be used for a range of voltages.Incidentally before I fitted the bulbs I tested the current draw with an ammeter, it was less than half that of the filament bulbs. Therefore a side effect is that batteries will last about twice as long. A real case of winning on the swings and the roundabouts.

Excellant upgrade for your Maglight torch.
I must have gone through many dozens of torches for work until I discovered the ubiquitous Maglites! Not cheap but built to last a lifetime. I own many 'Mags, my favourite actually being the double 'C' sized one. I sent for this replacement bulb and tried it in my 'fave: it has stayed in it :-) What a fantastic product- the top torch has become even better, and the batteries will last even longer too. Dead chuffed with this item. PS the bulb is a standard pre-focus type flange fitting and does fit many other types of torch.

this bulb is absolutely BRILLIANT. It's doubled the range of my torch allowing me to see twice as far compared to the original bulb that came with the torch. Also it's trebled, at least, the life of the batteries; the batteries that are in my torch when I put this new bulb in were beginning to fade but now are powering a really strong light

A lot of light!
Very bright but the focal range isn't as good as the original incandescent bulb - the light source isn't in the same place!
