True Harvest Parakeet & Budgie Food, Uniform Bird Food, S, 2.25 lb

I have a 27 year-old rescued white dove that I've had before he could even fly. He's been a very wonderful Pet. About five years ago he was slowing down couldn't get down from his top perch anymore. So since the food and water were at the bottom I had to remove the top perch just for his safety. He stopped his laugh you have do you know what I'm talking about. But thankfully he was cooing. About a year ago he really stopped eating nothing I would do would make him eat he would eat a little egg yolk and some smashed peas and kind of pick around at certain seed. So if I went buying every kind of single seed you could imagine. He started Liking some of the rape seed some of the white millet. But not really enough to sustain him. I just got so worried I started soaking regular seed grinding up smaller pieces of sunflower meat soaking it. To no avail. So I heard something about this product so I decided to try it. I soaked it I mixed it in with his peas he didn't want nothing to do with it so I put a little cup in there dry and he hopped right down from his bottom perch and tipped over the little cup just eating it like he was starving which I'm sure he is. He's lost a lot of weight over the past five years. I guess it's part of being a senior. But I hope this food sustains him because egg yolk and peas are not healthy without some seed. I'm still trying to find those little brown Tan seeds that are in his mix that he loves so much.

So yes it has corn & soy as first ingredients, yes a bit of sugar for palatability. But I much prefer this to higher fat Harrisons (full of sunflower & peanuts filler) or TOPs which has sunflower filler & zero vitamins (and indoor birds need their vitamin D!). I love that they add low sugar berries like cranberry & blueberry and multiple veggies. Broad vitamin mineral coverage. My birds need low fat for health. Thank you for a great nutritious budget friendly food! My birds happily eat their food and always maintain a healthy weight thanks to the high grain focus.

We buy this every time for our Cockatiel. It doesn’t contain any of the junk but has everything that’s good for our pet bird. Highly recommended in really great brand.

My cockatiel can be quite a picky eater. I admit, this is not his favorite food (that would be seeds or those fruit flavored pellets), but a cockatiel cannot live by treats alone, and pellets are a good option for his dietary needs. The Zupreem Natural Small Bird Food was well received by Feathered Alarm System. These are pretty much the same as the fruity version that he loves, but has less sugar, flavoring, and coloring. These pellets are definitely healthier than an all seed diet, and the waste caused by seed throwing has dropped significantly - any pellet that is dropped will later be picked up by my bird and eaten. The pellets are easy for FAS to "crack" and swallow, or swallow whole, and he didn't snub them since these are the same size as his fruity Zupreem food. I like mixing the two types of pellets together along with a few seeds to give my bird a good amount of variety. As always, he also gets plenty of fresh vegetables to eat anytime. The food comes sealed in a Ziploc type bag, however if you want to keep the food very fresh for a long time, you can put it in a large jar and keep it in the fridge. Overall, this is a great food if you're looking to keep your bird happy and healthy. I will definitely be purchasing this again in the future.

My parakeets don’t seem to be too crazy about it, but eventually, they will eat it.

My bird loves it and she is 18 years old and a very picky. It appears to be good quality and very fresh when you receive it. It is very easy to get her to eat it which makes me happy. I have been trying to find more food she would eat with better nutrient and this has all bases covered. I highly recommend this for others with picky eaters.

My cockatiel was very happy with it

I was very disappointed in the last batch that I ordered back in May of 2026! The pellets looked the same as before. But the smell was horrible almost like a chemical smell when I opened the bag. My bird didn’t even want to eat it when he loves these pellets! Unfortunately, this could not be returned because of food safety. I will pick a bag up at the pet store and hopefully it does not have a chemical smell to it.

A high quality food enriched with necessary proteins,vitamins & minerals all a budgie needs for a staple diet along side fruits & veg etc but getting him to eat it is another thing. I think it tastes ok to. No strong odour. I think the pellet size for a budgie should be a little smaller though.
