Aronia berries, also known as black chokeberries (not to be confused with chokecherry) and black apple berry, are the small and very dark berries of the Aronia melanocarpa plant. The berries are packed with nutrients and antioxidants such as vitamin C and anthocyanins and are said to offer a range of health benefits. Aronia berries are used to make fruit syrup, fruit juice, soft spreads, fruit jellies and tea, often in combination with other berries.
