Audien Hearing ION – Wireless Rechargeable OTC Hearing Aid for Seniors & Adults, Premium Comfort Design, Nearly Invisible

This ION wireless is now my third model of Audien hearing aid line, and it is arguable their most improved model yet. The product is much more comfortable to wear compared to the ear bud models, and certainly more powerful. The sound quality is crisp and clear throughout the volume range which is very easily increased or decreased by simply touching a rocker switch on the top of the unit. One of the best improvements with this model is the absence of any squealing and feedback. The recharging pod is compact, well designed, and easily used. And, as with prior models, the USB – charged pod can be detached from the charging cord and carried along with you for overnight trips. I had an opportunity to compare the quality of this product to a similar model of another brand costing easily five times as much, and I actually preferred the audien product for the quality of sound. I highly recommend the Audien ION rechargeable hearing aid.

I have tried other brands in the past and had to send them back because of very poor quality sound, back ground noises and whistling. These Audien ION hearing aids seem to work great for me and I've only had them on for 30 minutes. I can listen to my TV now at less then half the normal volume and my wife doesn't have to yell at me or repeat everything twice. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and I know it takes time to get used to them. I'm hearing sounds now that I haven't heard in years. I'm 87 years old and have had hearing issues for at least 20 years. I'm so happy with these hearing aids and I highly recommend them to anyone with mild to severe hearing loss.

Gave four stars..4.5 would be perfect. They are not quite as good as from audiologist, but boy a very close 2nd. For OTC they are great. The only thing you need to do is turn them on after they come out of charger and take 10 seconds to put in ear ( no problem). Turn them off prior to charging for the night. They hold volume settings even when off so you dont need to play with them daily. They dont need to be taken apart to clean. They are almost as easy as prescription. Customer service is awsome.

The Audien ION is the best and most affordable of the OTC hearings aids that I have tried and the most comparable to my old, far more expensive Rx hearing aids. They are more comfortable and feel more secure than in-the-canal models, plus they are nearly invisible. The ION not only amplifies voices, it provides greater sound clarity than the other OTC hearing aids I have tried. As I do not have the patience to change batteries, I appreciate that the ION is rechargeable and and comes with a rechargeable case. The charge lasts far longer than the six to eight hours that I need them for. Although I initially found the controls on the devices somewhat awkward to manage, as I became accustomed to them and determined the settings that I need, that issue disappeared. In other words, I recommend the Audien ION to anyone looking for a low-cost, high-quality hearing aid.

This hearing aid has been a great help to my 96 year old mother that otherwise has a very hard time hearing . We keep the volume turned to about medium so she can hear well. She has gotten used to the idea that she has 10 seconds to put it in her ear after she turns it on so that it won’t squeal while she is installing it. If she goes over time she has to turn it off then on and try again. Most days she can get the job done herself, if not it’s easy enough for me to do it. If she tries to turn them off at bedtime oftentimes without her glasses she can mess up the volume by hitting the wrong button so when she has a hard time hearing us or we hear it screeching from time to time, I find I need to re-calibrate the sound by putting the aids near my own ear, not in my ear because it can screech while I’m handling them! Then I either go from the bottom of the beeping which has its own unique sound up to about #5 beep or usually just have gotten used to how it sounds from background sounds etc. and do it by sound. These aids work well for her since she hears well at that sweet spot in the middle of the range of volume. The battery charge lasts through the day and has plenty left until late if she needs to stay up later. I ordered these around Dec. 1 of 2024 and it’s now Aug 8 of 25 and the left one has been malfunctioning by loosing its memory for volume causing it to go full on which causes very loud screaming so I have to manually reset the volume each time. It’s been a week so since nothing had changed for the better I called the support number to see about getting a new aid. After talking to a nice Ai I got to another nice gal who helped me and is getting a new set set out by next week. All told it was not that painful an experience to go through and great to know that the warranty support is there when needed! We’ve gotten other aids with absolutely no support so this is great ! Will let you know about the carry through.

Be sure to buy Ion Pro 2. I have them both and give Ion 2 four stars. Probably one of the best OTC BTE HEARING AIDS out there.

Disappointed with the quality of my ION hearing aids. Bought them November 21, 2025. Glad I purchased the 2 year protection plan. I started having issues with them not working. This month, June 2026, they stopped working. I contacted Audien and they should be sending me replacements.

These hearing aids work very well for conversations. It feels like whoever is speaking just got closer to me when I turn them on. Having to say "what?" a lot less often. The controls are easy to find by feel and fairly intuitive. There are 4 modes of operation which are accessed by pressing and holding volume button. I have a hard time remembering which mode is which so I wrote the modes down on the case of the hearing aids. Conversation and driving modes work well. Music sounds pretty good with minimal distortion. I'm not as impressed by the noise cancellation in a noisy bar or outdoor (cicadas) environment. I would imagine for this to be better there would need to be a lot more compute power in the device or some sort of tunable settings (like a phone app). Battery life is excellent as I don't wear them for long periods, only when I anticipate conversations.
