i am confused. the descriptions aren't clear ... should i purchase the elixir with BB cream in color and BB cream classic?

That's a good question....I use both but not mixed together. I think it can be done and you would get great results. However, when I apply skin elixir, I apply a think layer and I like to pat it in and let my skin absorb all the nutrients ( 5- 10 min) then I apply the BB cream, I use #5 its natural looking. Use very little it goes a long way. The BB cream will help with redness in the skin. Hope this helps.

I have really sensitive and dry skin, and this is the ONLY thing that makes it feel normal. I have moved overseas and ship it in, which pretty much says it all. And you don't need to have my reptilian qualities for it to transform your bathroom cabinet. Fantastic.
