From USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes the first in a dark and steamy college romance series featuring elite criminal families and morally gray heroes. Killian Carson is unfeeling, cold-blooded, monstrous…and has developed an obsession with Glyndon that just might be both of their undoing. Killian Carson is a predator wrapped in sophisticated charm. He's cold-blooded, manipulative, and vicious. Though his charisma and intelligence fool everyone, Glyndon sees right through him. She sees the psychopath within, and though her brain tells her to run, there's a secret part of her that knows the monster will only chase her…and she may want to get caught. Glyndon King has never felt like anyone's favorite. Her mother and brothers are the artistic talents in the family, and she knows she will never live up to anyone's expectations. But Killian? He has no expectations except that she is now his. It doesn't matter that their schools are rivals―their possessive, all-consuming desire may be able to drown out everything else. But can two people with broken souls truly repair the broken parts of each other's psyche? Can their dark and sinful desire overcome their history? When it turns out those pasts are more disturbingly entwined than they thought, they may come out stronger, or it may be their unraveling.

dark romance that will hit all the spots
I really loved God of Malice. Some parts may be triggering for certain readers, but honestly, there are much darker books out there. If you focus on the character growth and the bigger storyline, it becomes such an engaging and addictive read. The secret societies, the fights, the running through the woods, the chase scenes all of that made the world feel so much richer than your typical dark romance. It gave me something to latch onto beyond the relationship, and I appreciated that. I actually started in the middle of the rinaverse with this book, and it still worked surprisingly well. You’re going to meet a ton of characters no matter where you begin, so reading the earlier books afterward feels almost like diving into a prequel with bonus context. I did pull up the family tree just to keep track, and it definitely helped.I listened to the audiobook while reading, and the narrator was incredible. The emotion, the fear, the attitude everything felt vivid and perfectly matched to the characters. I’m excited to continue the series and see where the story goes next.

Great Dark College Romance!!
📚God of Malice📚By: Rina KentFormat: E-book (Kindle Unlimited) 📱Genre: Dark RomancePOV: Multiple POVSetting: UKTropes: Enemies to Lovers, Dark College Romance, Secret Society, Bad Boy/Good Girl, Virgin MFC, Touch Her and 💀Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️Review: This series has been on my TBR for awhile and it’s my first Rina Kent book. It’s a dark romance but not too dark and I enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. This book follows Killian and Glyndon. Glyndon is British and the youngest and only daughter of the King family. Her mother is a famous artist and her brothers are accomplished artists while she feels lost in their shadow. While Killian is American from an affluent family who is also part of a secret society. Both attending colleges in the same area of the UK their paths cross in a not so peasant way. While Glyndon wants nothing to do with Killian, Killian is absolutely obsessed with Glyndon. The more he purses her the deeper into his world she’s plunged. Even though she fights it, Glyndon is drawn to the darkness.I really enjoyed this book. It was dark and twisty with some fun plot twists and a touch of suspense. I loved all the characters that were introduced and I’m looking forward to reading more of their stories. My one and only complaint is the several chapters at the end that were from different parents perspective. It was really weird and kind of broke the vibe in my opinion. I can only hope it will make sense when I read more of the books in the series. Other than that though I really enjoyed it! If you are a dark romance girlie then I definitely recommend giving it a read!

Time for the Next Book!!!
Today’s Date: 09/14Time: 20:10 pmThis was a good book to read. Just enough amount of spice. Love the plot. He fell. She fell harder. I couldn’t put it down. He couldn’t figure out why he wanted her so bad despite her fighting against her will each and every time. Devlin was a conniving sneak and I hope someone has his head at some point as the series go on. Turns out they both had their parent’s perspective wrong. Communication is key. His mom loved him despite his killer instinct and his dad just didn’t want him to turn into someone from his past. As for Glyndon.. had she just talked to her mom then she would’ve known that her mom loves all her kids equally and differently. I’m glad Killian and Glyndon have each other l. They don’t realize how similar they actually are and they just connect like a puzzle piece. I can’t wait to read the next book. The lesson of this book is to be who you are openly and freely. Your own opinion of yourself is more powerful than you think. Don’t repress your desires just because someone wants you to. Express those desires and wreak havoc while you’re at it!

Welp it’s definitely a dark romance …
I decided to dive into this kindle unlimited series that has been living on my tbr for a while. This is the first book in the series and it’s about this psychopath (morally gray but also just a serial killer in the making) guy who is in college and happens across the FMC one night. Their meeting is intense and traumatic and erotic and is questionable in terms of consent. And basically that’s how the whole book is with the addition of like mafia men in the making, secret societies, turf wars, friendships and family dynamics. There is a lot to unpack in this book and there are several characters of intrigue. There is a lot of “dark” spice - not SA but like rough? Idk maybe check the triggers and don’t start here if it’s your first dark romantic. That being said, I didn’t hate it and will continue with the series. I will note there are like 3 other books not in the series that are the parents of some of the characters so kind of wish I read those first; and there is a guy on guy book about one of the brothers that isn’t included in the series… but I’m already invested in the series so not going to stop to read those first and tbd if I’ll read those 4 after (the book has 6 in the series but other 4 mentioned are related to the series via characters) . Sooo overall I think it was an ok book, didn’t love and didn’t hate but am curious about the other characters so go on I shall!Dark romanceDark spice (check triggers)Mafia, secret societies, psychopaths in the making

Dark, Twisted, and Way Better Than I Expected
I almost put this book down after the first few chapters because of how intense and shocking it started. It's been a while since I picked up a dark romance, and I honestly wasn't sure if I was ready for it. I'm so glad I kept going because I ended up enjoying this book so much more than I expected.Glyndon was such a great character. I loved her strength, even with everything she went through, and I found myself rooting for her from beginning to end. And then there's Killian... I can't believe I'm saying this, but I ended up loving his character too. He's absolutely insane, manipulative, and morally gray in every possible way, but he's also incredibly intelligent. The way he plans everything and stays ten steps ahead of everyone else had me constantly questioning what was real. There were so many moments where he manipulated a situation so well that I didn't even realize it until afterward. As dark and obsessive as their relationship is, I couldn't stop reading. Their chemistry was intense, and somehow Rina Kent made me invested in two characters who should probably scare me more than they did.One of the hardest parts of the book was everything surrounding Devlin. I genuinely didn't expect those events, and they hit harder than I thought they would. It added another emotional layer to a story that was already packed with tension. Now I'm really hoping that in the future books we get to see Landon eventually find some peace with his family. After everything that's happened, I'd love to see those relationships grow and heal because I think there's still so much story left to tell.Overall, God of Malice completely surprised me. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, reminded me why dark romance is such a unique genre, and left me excited to continue the Legacy of Gods series. If you enjoy obsessive, psychologically twisted romances with complex characters, this one is definitely worth the ride—but be sure to check the trigger warnings first.

Yes and no
SPOILERS. First let me say I enjoyed this book a lot but I have a few problems with it too, and they are mostly in what I will call transitions.Killian starts off as really despicable. He sees a girl who may be suicidal, and intervenes, but not to help her, but to hold her in a precarious position over a cliff, where if he lets go she will fall. He uses his strength to force her to agree to forced sexual favors (BJ) or he will drop her. Then he begins to stalk her. When he finds out she is a virgin, he repeatedly tells her how he wants “her blood on his cock”. This phrase is repeated way too often. Then he slowly gets a bit nicer, though always controlling and willing to get physically aggressive with her, which we are told she likes. In fact we are even to believe that she subconsciously liked that first encounter, which I don’t buy. But it is really the ending of the book that bothered me. First there are the scenes at Killian’s home with his parents. His father says something when he first meets his son’s girlfriend that should never have been said, and certainly not with the entire family there. He demands to know if Killian forced her to be there because why else would she be with him. To me this was unforgivable, yet in no time we find the family in a group hug, which after 12 years of hate, I find hard to believe just gets better in one discussion where dad says one time I’m sorry. Oh great, that’s nice. I find it hard to believe dad was actually sorry or that his son, who supposedly has no emotions, forgives him and lets good old dad hug him. Anyway, I thought that whole thing was an attempt to “make nice” but for me it didn’t ring true. Dad is going to have to do a lot more to make up for those 12 years. And to think he’s been blaming his son (who was 9 years old) for pulling away from him, with no idea why and no thought that he might be part of the problem? Anyway, this is not the most important part of the story, but it seemed like it just rushed to a happier conclusion that I doubt is real. Finally, I found it hard to believe that Devlin, who was supposed to be dead suddenly is not and what? Has be been in hiding all this time just to start a war between houses? That he starts punching Glyndon and leaves her half dead so that Killian will come after him (which he does) seemed far fetched to say the least. I’m sure he could have found a less convoluted way to start violence if that’s all he wanted. Not this elaborate plot.Having said all that, I did enjoy the story between Killian and Glyndon, and after the first third or so of the book, I even liked him. For a guy with repressed violence and sociopathic tendencies, there is also a tender side of him, which it would have been nice to see earlier. I gave the book four stars because of what I thought were some weaknesses in the plot, but nonetheless I would recommend it and would read it again sometime. If you do not like or lets say tolerate dom-sub type sexual behavior, you probably won’t like this book, but if you’re willing to go along that these types of relationships exist and are ok if the participants are ok with it, then give this book a try.

Red Flags and all
Did I question my morals while reading this book? Absolutely. Did I find comfort in knowing that this is the kind of dynamic I only tolerate in books and not in reality? Also yes.I’ve been on the fence about picking up a Rina Kent book for a while. I wasn’t sure if her style would be for me or if I’d even finish one of her books. With that being said, I’m upset with myself for waiting so long. This book was deeply intriguing and made me question myself, especially as someone new to this genre.Let’s start with Glyn. Her character is simple and naive, but there’s a quiet, dark undertone to her. At the beginning, she’s at one of the lowest points in her life. As the story progresses, we get glimpses into how she views herself as a person, a daughter, a sister, and a friend, while also uncovering what led her to the book’s opening events. Glyn starts off as the kind of person who avoids making waves, suffers in silence, and doesn’t want to be a bother. But as the book unfolds, she grows more outspoken and confident. Overall, I liked her character, but I loved the person Killian helped her become by the end. Now, about her “friend.” For much of the book, we’re led to believe that this friend, who "voluntarily" left the earth, had been in her life for a bit. But toward the end, we find out she only knew him for two months and assumed she knew him better than anyone else. Spoiler: she didn’t. I interpreted this two ways: either she was so desperate for connection that she clung to his words, or she was gullible and naive enough to believe he saw her for who she truly was. When the truth came out about what he said and did, I was baffled as to why she grieved him so deeply. Now, the main event: Killian. He’s every red flag in a man personified, yet Rina made me fall for him. He was different. He was angry, possessive, tyrannical, and an unstoppable force of nature. But then, he became a man with feelings—feelings he didn’t know how to handle. I loved watching him struggle with his emotions for Glyn. He wanted to understand her so he could be done with her, but instead, she became his muse and his safe space.Glyn, in turn, understood him in a way no one else could. She saw through his anger at his brother, even when he denied caring, and she gave him the grace he didn’t know he needed. Killian remained true to himself from start to finish—raw, intense, and unapologetically himself. The only real change was Glyn. She calmed his inner beast, made him tolerable to those around him, and became his balance. He is her monster, and she is his calm. That balance between them was one of the highlights of the book for me. I appreciated how they complemented each other so naturally.I did have some minor issues, though. There were small gaps in the narrative, and the ending felt rushed. The story picked up toward the end, and then suddenly, it was over. I really hope there’s a novella about Killian and Glyn in the future—I’d love to see what Killian would be like as a father!

Twisted, hard to read, but oddly good
Spoiler alerts:It says when you start this book there are warnings. Hey - they mean this!!!! I'll be honest I'm glad I read the reviews before starting it, because I probably would have stopped after the first few chapters. Their relationship is definitely predatory, the lines are quite scewed as to whether they're really consensual. Even after finishing the book, I can't say he didn't rape her multiple times, even if yes she did like it. Their relationship really does develop and they love each other. I guess everyone needs different things and they fit eachother. So twisted and cringy, but oddly good too as it ends.

ossessione
Come?

Originally started reading this on KU
I originally started reading this on Kindle Unlimited and immediately bought the physical copy.I never thought I'd enjoy a college romance novel, but here we are. The beginning of this book is a wild ride, so make sure you check the TW's, it's not for everyone. But I DEVOURED this book.
