I actually prefer the gel version of thickener the most. It starts working instantly whether the liquid is cold or room temperature. However, I get it in bulk and it's a pain for when we are traveling. I use these packets for traveling and emergency backups by putting a few in the glove box. My son needs thickened liquids. For room temperature this is supposed to work instantly, and cold you wait 5 minutes. I usually have to wait a minute or two even for room temperature. But I love the individual measured packets. If you need on a normal basis, getting in bulk whether powder or gel is the best bet price wise though. For longer trips I have gotten the larger of powder, but that one I found was a different brand that I had to wait whether the liquid was room temperature or cold. This one seems to kick on faster for room temperature.

Great natural product, powder form needs a shaker bottle blender to mix well.

The product itself is effective and appropriate for managing dysphagia and safely thickening liquids as required. However, my experience was significantly impacted by repeated delivery failures and delays from the seller, which resulted in not receiving the product on time when it was medically needed for my child. Because this is a critical product for a child with oropharyngeal dysphagia and aspiration risk, timely delivery is extremely important. While the product quality appears good, reliability of delivery is essential in cases like this.

We like the sticks for on the go and in case we forget to bring the tub somewhere. My son needs his liquids thickened so we keep these in both cars, in the diaper bag, etc so we know we at least always have some on us. We also send these with him to feeding therapy. They are more expensive than if you just got the tub but we only use them as needed/in cases we forget the tub. They are easy to rip open. We use a milk frother to stir it to make it easier to use and dissolve.
