The box is wood, and so-so. The glass is decent, it needs to be hand washed. We gave this as a gift to a woman who had retired, so we pulled out all references to men - which raises the question why make it man specific? It seems to be right in line with pretty much any other retirement gift available, and is a good gift.

I am very impressed and excited to gift this very cool bourbon glass set to my friend who is retiring at the end of the year. All of the items go together really nicely. The glass is heavy enough (it could be a bit thicker on the bottom), but is definitely a sturdy glass. The chilling cubes and coaster are stone and slate, which gives the gift a luxury feel. There are even little pads on the bottom of the coaster - nice attention to detail. In gift-giving, they say that presentation is everything, and this gift box brings it all! It is rich, masculine wood grain (pine, so be careful, it can scratch or dent easily), with the image actually etched (not printed) on it. The box latches closed with a unique bronze metal clasp. Upon opening the box, the recipient is greeted with a padded velveteen lining on the lid, printed with rich gold lettering "The Legend Has Officially Retired 2024".This is a gift that looks much more expensive than it is! Excellent value! Highly recommend!

The lettering is printed on, but, so far, has held up to a couple of hand washes. In the product description, it notes that it should be HAND WASH only. The whiskey stones are rough, but they work. The set also includes a "cooling" coaster and a congratulations card. The current price of $21 at the time of this review is a little higher than similar retirement gift sets at Amazon.

This is a great retirement gift for a male coworker friend, it's funny and not cold and sterile so it feels more personalized. It comes in a wood box with a funny "The Legend Has Officially Retired 2024" print carved on the lid, and inside is a glass and a coaster, both printed with a very special "Retired 2024 Not My Problem Anymore", and a retirement greeting card for a male coworker. Additionally there are 3 whiskey stones, which another reviewer said is dice, its actually to freeze and then serve with whiskey in the glass as the frozen stones will chill the whiskey without melting and diluting it with water.Overall this is a great retirement gift for a male coworker, that isn't stale and boring.

Very happy with this gift pack. Got it for a co-worker who was retiring and it was one of those "goldilocks" type gifts - not too big, not too small, but juuuust right. The glass and coaster look good, are of nice quality, and are packaged in a clean, good looking box. He was really happy to receive it and has already told me he's enjoyed using it.
