Product is pretty easy to install, although I found it tough to get all of the bubbles out. I saw some criticism of the roller they provide and yes, you have to keep an eye on the pins as they can come out. But if you push them back in when you see them start to poke out it’s really fine and the roller worked well enough, especially given the reasonable price for the treads, so I have no complaints. You have to really take a lot of care when putting them down because they are flexible and very sticky, so installing them straight and centered can be challenging, but really unavoidable with this type of product. And you can pull them back up and try again. Didn’t seem to harm the wood finish of the steps when I removed them, so that’s good. So the installation was basically about as easy as you can expect, you don’t need any other tools to install, and the treads do the job. Our dog can get up the stairs on his own again without slipping. They don’t look bad considering what they are. Ideally they would be completely invisible, but then you couldn’t get the necessary texture. Honestly, I’m not sure how they can be better, hence the five stars. I would buy them again.

Stuck great to our tile stairs. Both my husband and daughter have slipped on the stairs and we’ve only lived in our new house for 6 months so it was overdue. Very easy to apply. We cleaned the stairs first with an all purpose cleaner and vacuumed. The roller that came with worked well, about half way through the one pin came out of the side and I had to put it back in like 3 times, but then it stopped and worked fine again. So far so good with socks! Also barefoot the texture is not too pokey, just grippy. You can barely see them in some light. Size was great for our stairs.

I purchased these for my older dog who had started having trouble getting traction on our stairs, and I’m so glad I did. The difference was immediate—no more slipping or hesitation. He’s much more confident going up and down now, which gives me so much peace of mind. They were easy to install and blend in really well since they’re clear, so they don’t take away from the look of the stairs at all. The grip is strong without feeling rough, and they’ve held up great so far. If you have pets (especially older ones) or just want an added layer of safety, these are absolutely worth it. Simple solution, huge impact!

I purchased these for our back deck just before winter in 2024. I like the tread design as they provide traction, but as we have dogs, it doesn't hurt their paws. To place these is pretty simple, peel the backing and adhere to the surface. It does recommend cleaning and i would highly advise anyone to do that ahead of time. To get the most from this, take the roll out of the package and let it lie in a sunny spot to "flatten" out. It makes it easier to peel and stick. My only complaint would be these are not very effective for older decks. If you have decks/wooden stairs with weathering and cracking you have two options. Either consider a different product or help to hold these down with either trim or roofing tacks. Mine began to peel on the windy side as our deck stairs are 8 years old. Despite a good cleaning and ample time to dry, the adhesion broke down due to cracks in the wood where debris, water, and wind could seep. I have modified them by using roofing tacks, but not everyone will have that preference.

These treads make a significant difference! Prior to purchasing I fell down our stairs. And our little dogs were afraid of slipping and falling. I was skeptical that they would stay in place and not present even more of a hazard. Or that they would damage the finish on the wooden treads. I have been pleasantly surprised. They are near invisible, they stay in place yet are removable. The grip is excellent. I and my dogs can navigate the stairs with confidence. I wish I had not been stubborn and had bought them before I fell!

So easy to apply to steps. Texture just enough to give the feeling of not having to worry about slipping off the step. Applied by an 84 year old in just a few minutes. Great adhesive backing. Certainly water resistant, again providing the fear of not slipping off wet painted stairs. Dog likes them too!

These have been a life saver for our 14 yr old elder dog. He slipped on the stairs and we needed something to help his grip and stabilize him. Our dog hasn't slipped since installation. You can barely see these on the stairs which I like and they don’t collect dirt or haven’t discolored at all. We have had them for a few months. I do wish that there were 2 more strips. I had to buy another brand to supplement this pack. Pros: • Stick well to tile floors • Roller included to secure strips easily • Pre-cut and peel-off design makes application simple • Texture provides great traction without being sticky • The house is safer for our 2 young kids, parents, and our dog. • Easy to clean and replace if needed Cons: • I needed 2 more strips. There weren’t enough in 1 package. Overall: These grip strips are an excellent value—easy to install, effective, and durable. Highly recommend for any household looking to add safety to slippery floors. This gives us peace of mind that everyone in the house is safer.

Love these, wayyy better than the black asphalt tape I had on them before! I haven't slipped on my stairs since putting them on. Also, I recently had to replace one (through no fault of the product) and wanted to show how they actually do disappear after they settle. I was a tiny bit unhappy at first that they weren't completely invisible, but as you can see, they do just about disappear over time. The top tread was just placed, and the bottom one has been there for a few months. It was quite simple to remove the one I had to, with no residue to remove, but it had a TON of grip and they have never lifted around the edges or seemed like they will peel off on their own. Very happy overall!

I need to cover the deck stairs for my 10 year old dog so she doesn't slip or get slivers on them. Easy to install and the backing lasts a long while before replacement needed. Plenty of extras in the package to re-cover when they eventually loosen due to the snow and rain.

Great product (so far). Simple easy instructions to install. I used used a measuring tape and pencil to find and mark the center point on each step and strip (since the strips were 32" x 4" and te steps are wider). I particularly liked the little red tab fixed on the end of each strip (in the roll), made it easier to pull out the backing. Good adhesion which allows you to remove and re-fix if placed crooked or to take out air bubbles. It is almost invisible (which was desired) on indoor stairs. I feel it has the right amount of (non-slip) grip - especially bare feet or sock feet. Durability (indoors) is yet to be determined. Shall update review after a few months. I do not recommend using this on outdoor stairs. Don't know how it would hold out in inclement weather.

Installed these on laminate flooring stairs and they provide significantly more grip, especially when wearing socks. Easy installation, no issues with the included roller. Make sure you clean the treads with rubbing alcohol first. The strips have a slightly "frosted" appearance and are noticeable but not very obtrusive - I don't think it can be helped. This kit is a good value as it includes 18 strips at a competitive price. 2025-09 Update: grips still fully adhered with no discolouration or dirt build up. Would recommend

I just installed these at the cottage and thought they wouldn’t stand the amount of water from in and out of the lake. We were 16 and it is still very glued to the stairs. Love these as the stairs used to get very slippery with the water.

This is a very economical solution, which I have several concerns about. I think it’s pretty good for the price, but we will see how they last. So far so good. They didn’t seem to stick down very strongly at first, and we’re kind of blotchy looking. Still are a year later. Maybe the fact that they don’t stick that well will be better if they need to be taken off at any point in the future?? I don’t think there’s any danger of them sliding or slipping off when walking down the stairs though. I wish they were a bit wider (from the nose of the stair to the back of the step) The whole idea is to protect the stairs from wear and tear but maybe these will be fine. The photo is very misleading, as those steps are very very thin and probably not even up to code anywhere. The roller that was supplied after a while got very tight and started binding. My main complaint was that they were no simple instructions or suggestions for installation. I was able to figure things out, but this is not something you do every day and some simple suggestions would have been appreciated. How close to put the runner to the nose of the stair, etc. Rolling techniques? If you can afford it, I would look for a better solution to protect your stairs. It does fulfill the safety requirement though, so that’s good. Not as slippery as bare wood.
