Crystal Book Persuasion
Author and spiritual mentor Sadie Kadlec has assembled a guide for crystals that stands apart from others that I have consulted and studied. Her organizational approach is one aspect that helps make a complex subject easier to approach. Rather than using alphabetical order, she instead uses nine ideas for using crystals and then in those sections lists the various crystals thought to be most pertinent for those purposes. She cross-references entries, sending the curious to related content throughout the book. The language in some books about this topic tends to be so ethereal, abstract, and pedantic, that the books offer little help to the casual reader or neophyte wanting to learn more about crystals and their applications. Her writing is much more to the point, crisp, and accessible, and perhaps some credit goes to an unnamed editor performing heroic work in taming the manuscript. Perhaps not. Regardless, the clarity in this book ensures it will be used, not tucked into a bookcase by those enthusiastic about the subject matter. It is not clear who photographed the various crystals that populate this tome, and that oversight should be noted. Without all of this images, which are a cut above the dull and listless photography in other related books I have read, the book would not achieve its purpose. DK Publishing typically provides excellent visuals to its books but needs to step up and credit those who created the content. An opening section, Crystral Foundations, also serves to differentiate this book from others. The section on ethics is particularly important, and something too few, self-included, may have pondered. Having lost a friend and spiritual advisor to a caving accident while he was looking for crystals decades ago still haunts me, and Kadlec rightfully raises some questions that deserve consideration.A final word here is aimed at the publisher or editors or whomever named the nine sections under Crystal Practices. You use finding, embracing, transforming, rejuvenating, and exploring, all of which convey energy, action, and activity paired with transcendent instead of transcending, guidance instead of guiding, radiate instead of radiating, and expansive instead of expanding. Attentive readers may find this incongruity grating. I did.I’ll end by repurposing the bridge lyrics from a song by Tommy James and the Shondells“Crystal book persuasion, Mm-hmmIt's a new vibrationCrystal book persuasion,Crystal book persuasion”

Nice reference book for the more esoteric / spiritual aspects of crystals.
Channel the energy of crystals for spiritual transformation book Impressive, professional quality hardback book. This is a very detailed book. It covers many of the most commonly encountered crystals, and gives suggestions on their various purported properties and benefits from a spiritual or new age perspective. It offers a few examples of exercises one can do be better attune oneself to the various energies of the crystals. The book is well indexed and contains beautiful picture throughout.I do somewhat wish there was some simple mention of how each crystal comes into being in nature, but other than that it is a nice reference book to have on hand if you are interested in working spiritually with crystals.4 stars! The photos on Amazon, provided by the seller, sufficiently represent the product. Any additional photos I might add would only prove redundant.Explaining my rating system:5 - a superior product - I would recommend4 - above average – a great choice3 - average – what one might generally expect2 - below average – I would advise seeking an alternative1- Horrible – a waste of your valuable money - avoid if at all possible
