For the cheap price, these skins aren't bad. They are thick and allow you to practice on both sides. They take stencils just fine, but I found it best to use speedstick deodorant instead of stencil transfer. It takes linework pretty decent, but color not so much. I found it very difficult to get even a pastel level of color to stick in this skin.

My granddaughter and I are absolute noobs at tattooing and we really appreciate a canvas like this to practice on. The absorption of the tattoo ink replicates using it on actual skin. I like that it is so flexible that you can form it around pretty much anything to simulate different body parts. Artwork on a flat surface is one thing but art that goes on a surface that is anything but flat is a very different experience. This gives an artist a good idea what techniques to use on skin that is attached to a living, breathing being. (Reading about and watching a tattoo artist only tell you so much.) Now all you have to do is make it squirm and yell ouch and you have the full experience.

I tried these out today because i got a request for a review, so i went ahead and tested them out. They feel great, and hold ink well. Theres not a lot of reverb when the needle makes contact, which is great. My only problem comes in where i try to clean it up to check my shading and it just smudges everywhere. Idk if im doing something wrong, but they work for practicing line work fine. I dont know how you would get them clean to check your work though.

I’m not sure what typical fake skin is supposed to look or feel like, but this feels like rubber. However, it is great for practicing with a tattoo pen which is what I used it for. 5/5 would recommend.

These skins are absolutely excellent. They take stencils well, and ink too. They hold the image and don’t smear when wiping extra ink away. It truly allows you practice and get to enhance your tattooing skills. Absolutely would recommend!
