Ethereal, beautiful and immersive
First, as a dedicated fan of everything Mariuz Duda is involved in musically, this was a must-have disc. Basically a continuation of the ‘Fractured’ album, with a return to the more ambient and electronica elements from the Lunatic Soul early albums. This is a good thing in my book, as I like the mix of styles and the acoustic complexity on display here. Only two of the tracks are lyric driven, and they are beautifully done. The others feature use of his voice as one of the instruments, including some really cool (funny?) use of vocoders and auto-tune at the end of one of the tracks.Production values are very high, and the depth of orchestration is a delight. When played back on a multichannel system that has Dolby Surround Upmixer (DSU) engaged, it sounds as if it were a true multichannel recording, very immersive. After a couple of passes, this is a very satisfying, if brief, addition to the Lunatic Soul repertoire. Recommended.

EP Companion to Fractured
Those who were mesmerized and captivated by last year’s Fractured may want to check out this companion EP worth of material (36 minutes) that was recorded during those sessions. However, don’t expect the same kind of instrumentation and song structure that made that album so great. This is a return to the ambient and atmospheric guitars and electronica featured on the early Lunatic Soul albums. In fact, there are only really two songs here with substantial vocals/lyrics – the title track and “Untamed.” Only the latter actually features acoustic drums. A few of the songs feature Duda’s voice as an instrument, but only two lyric songs. Of course, as would be expected, these songs are no less captivating – “He av en” and “Trials” open things up with plenty of post progressive experimentation, as does “Shadows.” The best three tracks, though, would have to be the final sequence of “Rinsing The Night,” “The Art Of Repairing” and the hypnotic “Untamed.”CD comes in double gatefold digi with lyric insert and then vinyl also available with single “clear blue” LP disc in double gate-fold jacket with lyrics/credits printed on inside of the jacket. I suspect this is primarily a “fan of Lunatic Soul” only type release, as there really isn’t anything here approaching the heaviness of Riverside. 3.75

Emotive album
Another brilliant album from Lunatic Soul. Atmospheric, sometimes confronting but most definitely real! Each new release gets better and plunges into new musical and production areas.
