Great baking alternative for those who cannot have dairy!
Half of my family has milk protein allergies, and we cannot have anything derived from milk. But we still miss the butter flavor of real butter in our baking. Previously, I have used Watkins Imitation Butter Extract, but it appears to be no longer available. They do have REAL butter extract, but we can't have that. After multiple attempts to reorder it and receiving the wrong thing, I have finally reached out to try other brands. This is the first one I'm trying. It has the exact same aroma as the Watkins imitation extract, so I'm sure the flavor will be the same (I'll edit this post if the flavor is off once I use it; I still have to finish the last bit of my Watkins stuff). I love using a half-teaspoon or so in frostings, cookies, cakes, and quick breads. It adds the butteriness that we miss otherwise! (Note: this is NOT a butter substitute--you cannot use it cup for cup in place of butter! [If you need a butter substitute, you might try Earth Balance or Melt Buttery Sticks.] This is a flavoring extract concentrate, which you can use a small amount of to add a flavor note you're otherwise missing. Using too much will make what you're baking taste fake and bad. Just a little can make it taste wonderful!)

Nice product when used within reason
Add a little depth to your flavor profiles. For an extract, this is surprisingly inoffensive. Most extracts will give a harsh concentration of aftertaste. This does not. I typically only add this to my cookies, boosting the taste of butter within the dough. For this purpose it works nicely, provided not too much is added. The price point is not horrendous for the amount received and for the concentration of the extract being fairly high while being alcohol-free.

Best replacement for Wilton butter flavoring!
This is it! Look no further! If you are looking for a replacement for Wilton butter flavoring. This is the closest thing to it. I bought and tryed probably 15 different brands of butter flavoring. This is the best one I found. I prefer the clear, but the yellow one they have in this brand is just as good. Hope this helps some of you bakers out there looking for a replacement for the Wilton butter flavoring. Don't waste time or money looking, just buy this!

Much weaker than other brands, I would never buy this brand again
I thought this might be cost effective. They no longer make Wilton's butter flavoring sold at Walmart. It was great for adding that sweet buttery aroma to frostings and batters. This is a terrible replacement option. The price is good and that is about it. It is very weak and requires large quantities. The smell and aroma is very, very faint -- imperceptible and non-existent. I added 2 teaspoons to pancake batter and nothing -- no flavor of butter. I tasted the extract directly from a spoon to verify -- no butter flavor whatsoever. The flavor is not butter but a sweet chemical taste that comes from the propylene glycol. I find it underwhelming and completely disappointing. I will have to keep looking sadly.

Chemical taste
Used this in buttercream frosting with vegan butter and added butter flavoring hoping to get a butter taste. I gave it to several people to try and none of them liked it. They all preferred the frosting without the butter flavoring added. It gave the frosting a chemical taste.
