I’ve been using this to secure bird netting on my yew trees, and overall it has worked very well. One of the biggest advantages is how nicely it blends in—it’s much less noticeable than thin ties, which is important when working around ornamental trees. The soft rubber material provides a very good grip without cutting into branches, making it ideal for wrapping and supporting the netting securely. It holds everything in place while still being gentle on the plant, which is a big plus for long-term use. My only real complaint is the spool. It’s not very well designed, and I ended up having to tie it up with another rope just to keep things manageable. That part could definitely be improved. As for durability, it seems promising so far, but I’ll need more time to see how it holds up with weather exposure. Overall, it’s a practical, effective solution for netting and plant support, and aside from the spool issue, I’m very satisfied with its performance.

I've gotten this kind of soft plant tie in black, green and now dark green. They all worked well, but the dark green was perfect for being unobtrusive. I use it to attach deer netting to stakes and it works well so far (a few weeks) enabling me to be able to move it as necessary to get in to my plants. I would echo another user who complained about the spool design. That is a bit frustrating that it unravels so easily. It's not a deal breaker, but could be so much better if that was improved.

The dark green of the wire is the perfect color for indoor or outdoor plants. It fades into the background. The lighter green is cheap and tacky. If you care about aesthetics and want your wire to not be noticeable, get the dark green. This is very solid wire with soft wrap, and very easy to manipulate. Invaluable for steaking and training plants.

Great product in that it’s not too heavy, easy to cut and twist around my plant supports or fence to support my dahlias, which can get large and heavy. I agree with other reviewers regarding how the covered wire cording is packaged wrapped around a hollow cardboard tube: the moment I unwrapped it and loosened the end, the entire tube of cording loosened and began unraveling at ‘both’ ends. I placed it in a small bucket to keep it contained but it continually knotted up when I tried to unravel and cut it. My solution after struggling to unwind it was to re-wrap it into a ball, sort of like a ball of yarn. This took time to complete but now it’s very easy to use, stored in the small bucket. I would buy this product again, however, as it’s perfect for my use otherwise!!

Works well for purpose... and very economical too!

It's wire wrapped in a vinyl coating ... not a lot of complexity but it has been great for impromptu plant use as well as securing patio lights and other odd jobs.
