Great consumer "long lens" in a light, small package
great pics on my Disney vacation and cruise. While it is certainly not a street photography lens, it was great when getting animal pics at the Animal Kingdom hotel, which is a giant "U" with about 20 acres of pasture in it for the African animals to roam. So the animals are often at some distance away, but this lens brought them in, and at the low end, still worked for the animals that came closer to our deck. Well worth the cost! And, compared to my DSLR, it and the Olympus Pen EP7 are so much lighter, and easier to carry when traipsing around the Animal Kingdom Park (zoo), too. Although I ended up not using this lens there, as the animals are much closer.

Great lense.
Amazing quality, easy to focus and zoom, light and supper functional for long shots.

Good for what it is.
I got this on a end of year sale. For the price paid its great. I went on to pick up the 100-400ii when it was released and it is now my go to lens for telephoto work, but as a lightweight, compact, and "cheap" telephoto option the 75-300ii does a good job. It is essentially a kit lens build an should be considered a good, but entry level telephoto lens.As long as its used in fair weather (not rain resistant) it would make a nice option for packing light while hiking or as a nice option for a walk in the park lens. Optically its good but not great and its price reflects that. If you keep expectations reasonable and shoot in brighter enviroments you should be very happy with this lens, especially if you get it on sale.

Very impressed
This lens is awesome. The size fits perfectly in my camera case it's easy to use. Purchased it on sale great value. One of the best functions with this is that I can double with my camera and make the zoom even better.

Can't beat the sale price
Fantastic for what it is, but it's a shame that it's not weather sealed.

Decent for the price
I guess you get what you pay for. This provides a decent level of zoom for wildlife shots and similar for a good price. But, the quality just isn't great. The aperture isn't that great and it doesn't let in a lot of light and I find I basically can't take any kind of good pictures near the high end of the zoom. Some of that is assuredly a skill issue (I'm a beginner), but my other lens with less zoom but f/2.8 aperture takes much clearer pictures.

Lightweight zoom
Arrived in great shape. Works well. I am not a professional. It works well for stationary birds. Took some reasonable aircraft shots at an airshow.
User
