Live and die with dignity
Robert Bailey continues with impress us with action, empathy and the law. The Last Trial in the series of McMurtrie and Drake series captures your interest from the first page. It keeps you guessing until the last few pages. The protagonist epitomizes true integrity above everything else.

infectious characters make you feel like you know them
Smartly written legal thriller. I like how the author uses landmarks and well known southern restaurants to set the scene. The author keeps the reader guessing to the end then does a hesrt warming wrap up. Unfortunately i read “The Reckoning” prior to “The Last Trail” ..rookie mistake. I have now read all 4 books in the series, and I will miss the daily interaction i have with the characters when reading.

Another good read
Robert Bailey writes a story that captivates and intrigues the reader. While formulaic and written like his previous stories, he weaves life into the characters that keep me reading.

Emotions Run High
The writing is super as our “team” tried to determine guilt and innocent. As you turn the pages you always wonder what is next. And you keep turning pages. An excellent read in my opinion.

Very, very good.
Great characters, great story. I have thoroughly enjoyed the three books in this series. Nearing the end of “The Last Trial” I was on the verge of tears, a bit embarrassing for an old helicopter gunship pilot. Fortunately, I was alone on my favorite reading spot, the toilet.

Excellent ‘conclusion’ to series - or is it?
I have enjoyed all of this series, including this ‘last’ book. It held my attention throughout and it has the classic scenario of heroes, loveable rogues and villains. Without giving any spoilers, there is no doubt that the goodies will win but they have many scrapes and emerge battle-scarred, quite literally. As the series has progressed, there have been a number of increasingly far-fetched moments but this is fiction and entertainment so it leaves me smiling, rather as a James Bond story would. Recommended and I will always look forward to more from this author.

An excellent legal thriller
I’m loving this legal crime thriller series, I’ve read all 3 books in the series back to back. Each book could be read as a standalone but it’s well worth reading the series in order. Why? Because each story leads onto the next book. There are some memorable characters that make this series such a good read. The court room scenes aren’t too long winded but add tension to the overall plot. The plots are exciting, and well developed.

Excellent
I just love the books Robert Bailey writes. I get so into the court cases and the characters. Cannot put the books down. A really good read. You suspect the main characters will come through but with hired assassin's you keep your fingers crossef.

One Life
I have Just read this excellent book, the third in the McMurtrie and Drake series. No spoilers. Strongly recommend that you read all three, read the author's notes after ' The Last Trial ' - then reflect on the title of this review.
