Light creamy lotion
The media could not be loaded. This product allowed me to make a very light and creamy lotion, it was very easy to incorporate into the mixture and blend into the perfect light whipped product you see in the video. This is my second time making water and oil based lotions and this emulsifier did not disappoint. Excellent results!

Good quantity for making hand lotion
I do a little bit of DIY product making at home for hand soaps, lotions, etc so that I can use natural products with fewer preservatives and so on. When you get into it you do find that you need thickeners to get to a consistency that is more like a bought product, and that's where Cetearyl Alcohol comes in. It's the closest thing to a naturally derived thickener. I don't need a whole lot of this to turn oils into a thinnish hand lotion, so I foresee this bag lasting me for a long time. It comes in small half-sphere pellets that need to be melted and stirred thoroughly into the product.

Gradular
This has very little odor. It's grains are about short grain rice size. A bit smaller than that. It's white and slightly powdery.

Works Well
Got this to add to my moisturizing soaps to give them more of a lathering quality and it works really well for that purpose. I am completely new to soap making and am experimenting with adding more natural elements to my soaps to give them specific qualities. This one seems to do it's job and I would definitely recommend it.

New to this
I’ve made plain lye soap with no additives in the past, but I wanted to expand to making more of my hair and skin care products myself. Many recipes call for cetearyl alcohol, so I ordered this to give it a try. I appreciate it is not made in a lab from synthetic ingredients, but is instead derived from coconut or palm oils. It arrived well sealed in a heavy-duty zippered pouch. I’ll update my review when I’ve had a chance to use and report back with any additional thoughts or observations.

Cetearyl Alcohol
I love using cetearyl alcohol in my lotions in my emulsion recipes, ie, lotions, cleansing balms, creams etc. It provides a nice emollient feel, stabilizes and it helps to act as a thickener. I particularly like to use it in body butter recipes because I like them to be a bit on the thicker/creamier side. I generally use a rate of about 3% but I have used up to 10% in some recipes it really depends on the thickness. Its stabilization action is due to its ability to act as a slight emulsifier, helping out the primary emulsifier. This brand extracts their cetearyl alcohol from coconut and palm oils and it is 100% pure. This is a great value for a large 8oz bag and they are currently offering a 10% coupon. I can't wait to use this product and I will report back when I do :)
