Review: Age appropriateness can go higher than is suggested - My kids are long since "kids" so I like to check out the suggested age group of a book bc I'm out of practice. I do not think this book is a good book for 6 yrs olds, the suggested age listed is 6-8. If your child is on the younger end of the scale, you certainly will need to be read most of this to them, and there are way too many 'busy' side boxes of info that would not be easy for a child to focus on. Bc of all the sidebar info, I felt this was best for a child on the upper end of the age scale, even above age 8. So don't be afraid to buy this for a child over 8 yrs old. I wanted this for my soon-to-be 10 yr old grandson, needed a book about a topic he liked (undersea) and was easy to pack and ship abroad. This is physically a very skinny book, but that's what I hoped for. It's what's inside that matters.
