I apply this serum at night before bed (the instructions say it can be applied both night and morning) It comes in a pump which makes it easy to get the amount that I need and helps me cut back on waste. I might disagree when I get to the bottom of the bottle, but we will see. It’s basically clear with the exception of small gold beads/flecks floating in it, however, once applied the gold is no longer noticeable in any way. I noticed even after the very first night that my skin felt softer and smoother. Now, I’m older and I don’t think there’s a serum, cream or lotion out there that will be removing my wrinkles, however, when I was younger and had slight lines, I think that it may have made a difference. Of course, that’s just speculation based on how it makes my skin feel today. Overall, I’m very glad to add this to my regimen. It’s a bit pricy but all of my skin care products are. At least the ones that actually work are and in the scheme of things this isn’t nearly as expensive as many of the other products that I use and have used.

Neogen Dermalogy Gold Black Lifting Essence comes in a very nicely designed bottle which is very sturdy and feels high quality. The dispenser mechanism is also very smooth and dispenses the right amount of product without any mess or wastage.The essence itself is clear with gold color small particles in it(they claim 24K Gold, I'm not sure). I was worried the yellow gold particles might end up yellowing the skin, but no they give your skin a nice glow. The essence is very lightweight and readily absorbs in the skin making it soft and hydrated. I do feel some skin tightness/firmness/lifting after applying this essence so guess it's effective.I do not notice any scent which is a plus.

The Neogen Dermatology Black Gold Lifting serum is one of my top two serums (I love them both equally!). It went on so smooth and I really could tell a difference on how smooth my face appears and how, especially for a serum, hydrated and soft my skin feels with it. The first day I used it I only put the serum on and my face did not have that "serum feel" to it after letting it fully absorb (it didn't have the ever so slight sticky/tacky feel to it. My face was hydrated and appeared that I had applied moisturizer when in fact I had not.It took me three pumps of this clear gel with small gold beads suspended throughout, and I was able to apply it to my face and neck. I has a very mild scent to it, almost unnoticeable to me. It takes some time to fully absorb, it dried rather quickly but then it continued to absorb until I could not feel it on my face any longer.I highly recommend trying this one! I love it! Packaged very nicely, ready for gifting on arrival. It has a small safety seal on the top lid. There is an expiration stamped on the bottom (mine was for 2/20/27)Made in Korea

This black lifting essence by Neogen is a serum unlike anything I’ve tried before. It has small 24 karat gold flecks in the serum along with a black complex from sesame seed, black bean and black rice. I have very sensitive skin and have had no adverse reaction to using this product morning and night. My skin feels tightened after using it and looks slightly firmer. I don’t love that it leaves a slight sticky feeling behind immediately after application, but despite that is absorbs fast and you can continue on your face regime almost immediately. I love that it is unscented and the pump allows you to control the amount you need. I find that you don’t need much of the product to cover your face and neck. Overall my face looks hydrated and glowing after using it.

I’m writing this review based on first impressions however I will come back and edit the review after a few weeks. I have heard of Neogen before and I think I’ve used a toner of theirs in the past, but from what I know they have a good reputation of quality products. This essence comes in a nice back bottle in which you can see the essence with the gold flecks, and it makes it a good experience. I used this after my toner, and because it has hyaluronic acid in it, I first sprayed my face with rose water, then applied. The gold flecks burst upon application so you won’t see them on your face. The serum is really smooth and went on easily, and my skin felt hydrated. I put on moisturizer afterwards and it didn’t interfere at all. No pilling. This serum has a lot of fantastic ingredients, and what made me want to try this especially is the antioxidants and peptides. I love the claims, that it firms and recovers damaged skin, so we will see in a couple of weeks, but based on first impressions I really like it.

This is a lightweight essence for your face, spreads easily and evenly without leaving your face gooey or tacky. It absorbs quickly onto the face leaving an even glow on your face. It's moisturizing yet I'm not quite sure how much it "lifts" your facial skin/muscles. The pump is easy to use and gives out just the right amount without squirting and splashing elsewhere. For $48, it's a bit pricey though.

I am a fan of NEOGEN, having using their exfoliating pads in the past, and am excited to see them making serums/essences as well! This essence is very light, non greasy, and can be put on after toning and before you put on your lotion/makeup with out causing issues. It's been a week and my skin feels softer and brighter, which is good as I deal with dark spots from scarring due to occasional hormonal acne.I like that it doesn't have a real scent, and that it doesn't make my skin feel tight or uncomfortable either.
