Much of the improvements made only matter if you're a gamer. This TV supports Variable Refresh Rate/FreeSync, and has much lower input lag than last year's model, even with Game Motion Plus turned on. So basically you get a smooth 120 FPS in every game -- even if your PC or game console isn't actually capable of rendering such high framerates -- without any noticeable increase in input lag. If none of these things are important to you, then you might as well save some money and get last year's model.
