CHILDMORY 1.8M/6FT RGB Scart AV Cable Lead Audio Video Connector for Genesis Megadrive 2

Wow!! What a difference a cable makes! :-D I have an old Sega Megadrive 2 console, that I wanted to get running on my modern LG LED 1080p TV, and with the old RF connection, it was, well.... total pants!! I have never seen such an appalling looking RF connection before! Even with the TV set to 'original' for it's aspect ratio.... even in 4:3 on RF the colours were so far off it was a joke, and the picture had a weird criss-crossing of colours too... there were red and white borders extending out from everything on-screen, and it all had a nasty, jaundiced yellow hew....... So I ordered this cable some 24-hours prior to this review actually, and it arrived today (within the Prime 24-hour delivery guarantee), and I connected the Megadrive 2 with this new cable - which is connected for RGB output via Scart connection..... set the video input to 4:3, and my word!! My Sega looked and sounded beautiful...!! Sharp, crisp, vibrant colours, and stereo sound! From an analogue (analog) standpoint, the RGB output is the best that you'll get compared to a digital HDMI output.... OK, it's not 1080p, but, at the Megadrive resolution, using RGB is the best that you can get, and it looks brilliant!! The games look as they should, and the sound is presented in true stereo too. The Megadrive 2 has a reputation for terrible RF performance (you ain't kidding.....), but superb RGB output, and I'm delighted to say, that this absolutely true... this cable is letting my ancient console look sparkly-new on a modern Full-HD TV.... :-)

Worked as expected on an old mega drive to new telly

This cable does not appear to have any screening (foil or braid) that I could detect and it creates an incredible buzz/hum on the audio lines. It is so bad that the cable is practically unusable. I bought it based on a large number of positive reviews but the reality is that you can't really scrimp on this kind of cable. At a minimum you need a double-screened cable, and better again, the audio and video leads screened independently to minimise interference. Don't waste your money thinking you are getting a deal at this price, this cable will ultimately disappoint and frustrate.

For the price I can't really complain. Picture is great however there is some audio buzzing on certain screens.

Childhood regained excellent

This cable worked fine on a Sega Megadrive 2, then after about 2 weeks, it just stopped working for no reason. Have returned and now ordered another one from a different company. Not worth the money

Arrived next day...picture quality if much better but shame it still runs 50hz... it does the job.

Utilisé pour ma megadrive II. Fonctionne très bien je n’ai plus à jouer avec les fils pour obtenir l’image.

This is the Cable you need for the Sega Genesis and also for other systems that use the 9-pin mini din. I’ve modified some Atari and colecovision units with the RGB mod and use this cable to connect to the RetroTink 4K, simply amazing! You simply must see retro game councils in HDR, it’s stunning especially the space shooter games with stars in the background! It’s hard to find the 9-pin mini din bulkhead connector but they can be found on eBay from China if you look closely.
