I'm in my early 50s, and I bought this retinol face moisturiser to help with the lines on my forehead and also crow's feet, because my wife's facial cream products contain retinol, and she swears by it. I found that in dou g so, it did cause some redness to appear on my cheeks. So, I started applying it every 3 days for a while, then every 2, and now I can apply each evening with no problems.
