A well built leak-proof bottle
It's pretty well made and doesn't leak. It does what it's supposed to, feels durable, and has lasted my kid almost 2 years. Insulation works fine. Keeps hot hot and cold cold. Cleaning is as expected - take everything apart.. lid, straw, use narrow straw/bottle brush, and you're all set. The 18 fl oz is adequate, but may need refilling at least once for an active elementary school kid. It's not the cheapest, but it's a well made and nice looking bottle. I even put a decal on it for my kid. So far so good.

Durable, Easy to Clean, and Great for Everyday Use
We've been really happy with this Hydro Flask kids water bottle. The purple bottle with the blue lid is adorable, and it's my child's go-to cup. It feels very well made and has already held up to plenty of drops without showing much wear. One of my favorite things is how easy it is to clean. The lid comes apart without being complicated, so I can make sure every part gets washed thoroughly. I also appreciate that it includes two straws, which is a nice bonus in case one gets misplaced or needs replacing. The lid functions really well. The straw flips up and down smoothly, and it's easy for little hands to use. My child has no trouble drinking from it, and the flow is just right. The only downside is that it isn't completely spill-proof. If the straw is left open and the bottle ends up upside down, water will leak out, and ALL of it! As long as the straw is folded down, though, it does a good job for everyday use. Overall, this is a high-quality, durable water bottle that's easy to clean, easy for kids to drink from, and one I'd definitely recommend. I don’t think I would buy another brand.

Invest in this one! Great for 2 and up
This is our favorite water bottle to date for our toddler and we have tried them all! Leakage: Let me preface by saying our little guy is 2.5. This is important because it advertises for 3 and up. The cup will leak if the straw portion of the cap is left open and the bottle is full and tips over, so if your child doesn’t quite understand to close the lid you may end in some frustration but he has been capable of remembering to shut it since 2. We loved our contigos that didn’t leak but the reason we switched was cleanliness. Cleanliness: this is where this water bottle in particular takes the cake. We have tried the plastic Contigo and the stainless steel Contigo, and while we loved each of those for different reasons in different seasons of his growth, it was impossible to keep the lid and mouthpiece completely clean and mold free. Nothing is more frustrating than using the tiniest of brushes and toothbrushes to try and clean a cap and nothing seems to work. This one is so simple and has minimal parts and crevices to clean. The straw is easily removed, the rubber ring is easy to remove, and the plastic mouthpiece is much easier to clean than the rubber ones. Hallelujah! The rubber on the bottom is easily removed to clean underneath. Durability: So far it has survived some falls from the dining table and countertops, sliding around on our wooden deck and we have no scratches or dents! I for sure thought he would have caused some damage by now but I’m very impressed with the strength of this bottle! The rubber bottom seems to make a difference Grip: East for little hands! Our son particularly likes to hold the loop that is on the cap, but the bottle is slim enough for little hands to easily hold it while drinking and the rubber on the bottom adds additional grip so it’s not sliding through hands and falling.

Easy for little kids to open
It keeps drinks at the right temperature, doesn’t develop bad smells, and is easy for my 2-year-old to open by himself. Perfect for preschool. Highly recommend!

Another win from Hydro Flask!
We have a ton of Thermos Funtainer bottles in our cabinets. They're thin and the paint always scratches or the decals peel off. They look horrible. I decided to replace those with these Hydro Flask kids water bottles. I'd like to say the other brand is cheaper, but they're really not by much. I can't believe I've spent as much as I have on them when the Hydro Flask ones are only a few dollars more. The Hydro Flask kids bottles are sturdier, easier to clean, and keep water cold for significantly longer than the Thermos ones we have. They hold enough water for younger kids. They feel like a better value because based on my other Hydro Flasks, they'll still look almost new a year from now! We don't use these 12 ounce ones for school--we have larger ones for that purpose. We use these in the house or for short car rides--because kids these days get so parched without constant access to water! These don't leak and even though they don't have branded characters on them, my kids really like them. They're easy to hold, fit all cup holders, and my kids like the straw tops. I put the tops and straws in the dishwasher and hand wash the bottles.

Easy for my toddler
Excellent water bottle for my toddler. He can open and close the spout independently, it keeps his drink cool even in the heat, I love that his water isn't sitting in plastic all day, and he loves the colors and actually wants to use it. I love the silicone coaster because it's quieter when my toddler tries to slam the water bottle down. We've tried a number of styles and this one is the winner.

Solid water bottle, but needs several improvements
We're a loyal Hydro Flask family, mainly because they were one of the first companies to use an entirely LEAD-FREE sealing dot in their vacuum-insulated containers. (Their earlier products from years ago did contain lead, but when this was brought to their attention, they actually listened and switched to a lead-free material.) We generally love our Hydro Flask products because they are durable and do a good job insulating liquids. However, their kids' water bottles are lacking a few important features: 1. The lid leaks like crazy if the water bottle isn't kept upright. Hydro Flask actually sells a leak-proof lid ("Flex Straw") with their other wide-mouth water bottles--why they wouldn't start including it with the kids' water bottle is beyond me. Maybe it's because the Flex Straw spout is a little harder for young children to snap open, but I would honestly prefer helping my child open the spout to having to constantly clean up leaks. 2. Another feature they've overlooked with this model is a way to cover the spout when the water bottle is not in use. This is especially important for a kid's water bottle because it goes everywhere with school-age children and gets dropped in all kinds of places. Hydro Flask's major lead-free competitor includes a covered spout on their kids' water bottles, and if these products weren't all so expensive, I would be sorely tempted to switch brands. 3. Finally, I wish they would make these bottles slightly narrower and taller so that they would fit in more cup holders. We had to buy a third-party clamp-on cup holder for our stroller because the Hydro Flask doesn't fit in any of the three cup holders that came on our stroller. Now for the pros (and the reasons I still give this product four stars): 1. It's a simple design that's easy to clean. This matters a LOT, and it's the biggest thing that would give me pause if I were considering that other lead-free brand. The competitor I mentioned earlier uses a very complicated design for their straw lids, and they look like a major pain to clean. 2. These things are tough. We have four of the 12-oz kids' versions, and we abandoned using the protective "boots" long ago (we lost one of them, and then we just got tired of taking them off to clean them all the time). These bottles have been dropped countless times onto concrete, and yes, they've got some *small* dents and scuffs, but their functionality has not been affected in any way. They still do a great job insulating, and I don't expect any metal water bottle to be impervious to the wear and tear a kid puts it through. 3. As I mentioned earlier, they're lead-free, unlike most other insulated water bottle brands. With the brands that use leaded sealing dots, you might think that it would take a LOT for a kid to get the protective coating off of the bottom--news flash, that's not always the case. Those sealing dots are almost entirely lead, so acute poisoning could happen very quickly if the protective coating did come off. Not worth the risk in my opinion. Overall, I would recommend these since they are lead-free, durable, and easy to clean, but I suggest that you first see if you can find the regular 12-oz Hydro Flask with the Flex Straw lid. It's not marketed for children, so it doesn't come with the protective boot, but I honestly don't think you really need the boot. The leak-proof Flex Straw lid is much more valuable to me. (Just be prepared to help your kiddo open the spout until their fine-motor strength is a little more developed...) Alternatively, you could purchase this model and then purchase the Flex Straw lid separately, since it is compatible with this bottle, but as a matter of principle I refuse to pay $23 for a water bottle and lid, only to turn around and pay $15 for another lid. That's ridiculous. I really hope Hydro Flask will improve this product in the future, taking some of the above things into account.

Great water bottle for kids. Easy to open and holds a good amount
I got this Hydro Flask kids water bottle for school and it’s been great so far. It keeps water cold basically all day, which is a big plus, and the straw lid makes it super easy for kids to drink without spilling everywhere. It feels really sturdy too—definitely holds up to drops and being tossed around in a backpack. The size is just right for school, and it fits in most cup holders. Only small downside is it can be a little pricey, but the quality makes up for it. Overall, a solid, reliable bottle for everyday use.

Good water bottle, but arrived damaged with someone else’s name written on the bottom!

A+ kids product.
Great set, we loved the straw tumbler so much we bought a second. My husband was actually surprised how long they kept drinks cold for; noticeable even overnight. The internal straw part is not the highest quality.

Perfekt
Die Flasche ist super, die Lieferzeit war natürlich lang, dadurch dass sie aus den USA kam. Finde schade, dass Hydroflask diese Flaschen nicht hier verkauft. Farbe ist schön, hält was es verspricht. Rundum zufrieden!
