GREAT POTENTIAL
The actor playing one of the main characters Will is a visual impairment to the show. His acting as well as the writing developing the character is horrible. In fact, one realizes that it is Will that is causing the negative aspects in the story. It's almost as if you want your hero to fail because he is such a *&(*&! The cast supporting Will are actually good and many are great actors and actresses. If not for their performance carrying the Will character through the show it would be a complete failure. I would also mention that the Queen of Lea is also lacking acting skills. Its so bad you can tell that the writers limited her dialogue to limit her role. This production had and possibly still has big opportunities but if its not corrected then this show is dead. Many people have commented how much potential this story had but combined with the weak acting and characters above its just going down hill. At comic con so many people thought this could be another Supernatural in terms of longevity and ratings but we all agree that this fantasy needs a make over. BUT, the foundation is there. I know myself and my 250K followers are always willing to keep trying but get it together.

GREAT! Comparable to Lord of The Rings
Who ever messed up this being an on going series... a pox on your house! This series is so well done, highly entertaining! The storyline is great, the characters are lovable, and good acting. And it's especially sad they cancelled this because Terry Brooks has dozens of books including two others from the Shannara series that can be woven into this. We want to see Mereth as the Elf Queen Druid and what happens to Wil! COME BACK Shannara Chronicles!

It's too bad there's not more fantasy out there.
There's a couple things I absolutely hate about the Shannara Chronicles..Austin Butler wasn't great last season, but this year he's become insufferable. To use a Star Wars analogy.. it's like watching an even less talented version of Hayden Christensen trying to play luke sykwalker. He sorta mashes the worst traits of Mark Hamill and Hayden Christensen into a completely repellent douchebag. It's almost embarassing watching him pretend like he has any sort of charisma and when every girl he meets succumbs to his 'charms'.. it's almost nauseating. He's gotta be casting spells on those poor girls, cuz that's the only thing that makes any kind of sense! On the plus side, Amberle is still a tree.. I liked the addition of the asian chick because at least her acting is somewhat believable. Just like last year, what saves the show are the secondary characters- especially the two villians. But I think it's kind of a big flaw that the villains are just so much more fun to watch than the people we're supposed to be rooting for.I also don't care for that trend to force lesbianism into fantasy. I mean, if you wanna shock people, make Wil gay! Not that anybody would really find that shocking. But what bothers me much more than the gimmicky lesbian stuff are those incessant cheesy songs that accompany every vaguely emotional scene. They completely cheapen the scene and take you right out of it. I can't overstate how distracting those songs are. Wil will talk to Eretria (in his dopey and vaguely brooklyn faux- tough guy voice) "Yer the strongest person I know. But ya can't be doin' it all alone". And then a song comes on and goes "alone alone alone".. I'm not exaggerating, either! It's so *censored*! You know, I was hoping the move from MTV to Spike would make the show more manly and more adult. Not in terms of sex and violence, but just moving the focus away from kids bickering with their parents. And then lezzing out with the worst songs ever playing in the background. Before eventually melting before Wil and his piercing, yet uncomprending blue eyes and pouty lips. God I hate him!But if you can get past all that, the story and the special effects are pretty solid for a fantasy series. I like Shannara more than Game of Thrones which has become far too grim and depressing for me. I like the more positive vibe of Shannara and I wish there were more shows like it out there.

I love this series
One of my favorite fantasy series turned into a video series. I know some people have complaints but this is a fun series that takes the heart of the books and puts it on your screen. I wish they would have made more.

Almost as good as the books
Too short one more season would have been good.
