Great tasting.
Good value for money for quantity. Fine texture, mixes well into recipes. Great tasting lower sodium salt alternative. Flavours food very subtly. So far good versatility in cooking. Nice touch that re-usable shopping bag and sample of other salt version by same producer included.

Passable low sodium substitute.
Good salt substitute (less sodium), but a bit rough purified. Has a strange after taste.

Really. Pleased to find tgis. Tastes very nice, sort of salty, herby and slightly earthy. Quite expensive but subscription helps a little

Taste and texture very close to regular table salt
When I ordered I was only expecting to receive 2 pouches of low sodium alternative to salt. I was pleasantly surprised to open the package and find that, along with a really well made large canvas shopping bag, a good-sized sample pack of the green version of this salt (which is less processed), recipe cards and an information pack telling me all about this brand. When tasting the green salt first, compared to my usual sea salt flakes, I found the flavour was nothing like real salt. It has a grassy, earthy taste and dry powdery texture that I wasn’t keen on for sprinkling on top of meals. However, this flavour is not detected when replacing salt during cooking. Moving on to the white salt alternative, compared to regular table salt, I think anyone would be really hard-pressed to notice any difference at all in taste and texture. The texture is much the same as table salt, but is finer than sea salt flakes or crystals. It’s definitely good enough to use both during cooking and sprinkled directly on top of meals. This is a really useful product for anyone who loves the taste of salt, but may be trying to reduce their intake of sodium.

genius way to salt your food, whilst using less salt
I think this is a genius idea to make your food salty, while also lowering sodium levels in your food and adding a few more nutrients. Because it is not pure salt, it is said to contain 20-40% less sodium than if you would use regular table salt. Some of the other nutrients it can contain include magnesium, potassium, calcium, iron and iodine, as well as a little fibre. It would be nice if they included the iodine content on the ingredient list - it's currently not listed. I did some research and found the iodine levels in this product are: 3.67mg per kg, so that's 3670mcg per 1kg, or 367mcg per 100g. (To give you a sense of whether that's a lot or not, the RDA of iodine needed by an adult is 150mcg per day). Since you're only likely to use less than 1 teaspoon at a time (1 tsp = approx 5g), that's about 18mcg iodine per teaspoon. Or if you use a 1g pinch, that's about 3.6mcg iodine per pinch. In my research I also discovered that they lab-test this product to make sure it's safe, and have checked for heavy metals and environmental contaminants like pesticides, and their tests have found this product has these components all well within safe levels. This is a powdered vegetable that's naturally very salty since it grows in salt marshes. A while back it was very popular in gourmet restaurants to serve this veg - samphire - also known as salicornia, glasswort or sea asparagus. In this product the normally green samphire has undergone some processing to make it white so it looks more like salt. I have been using it like salt and am finding it does the job really well! I was surprised to find that when they sent this out, they also include a few bonus goodies. In the pack, alongside what I had ordered, there was also a free sample of un-whitened powdered samphire that is still green, and there was also a tote bag! A nice surprise! Honestly, I think I would prefer the green samphire since it feels more natural than the whitened powder version where I'm not quite sure what they did to it in their mysterious "patented technology" to make it white, and that makes me a bit uneasy. If they sold the green version, I would use that instead. The powder was sent in an opaque bag with a ziplock top to help preserve its freshness after you open it.

Great quality salt
Good quality salt that cam be added to electric grinder and does not taste any different to usual flakes/crystals of sea salt that I use.

Best tasting low salt we have found.
My husband is on a low salt dietary restriction. We tried every salt substitute on the market. They all had chemical tastes. This is the only one he has liked. It has half the normal amount of sodium, so it is not “sodium free”, but it’s better than all the others and worth the higher cost. Recommended by a television cooking show!

The ONLY salt I'm using now
Game changer -- In 2025, I unfortunately had to start dialysis for my failing kidney and one of the most unfortunate changes is giving up sodium since it retains fluids for someone on dialysis and it made my life as bland as the food I was eating. I accidentally encountered this product as I was frantically looking for a way to enjoy food again so I can fight the good fight. It tastes like salt but with waaaay less sodium! I pretty much use it the same as how I use my former salt. Thank you so much for making a great product. For some of us, it's not just a condiment but a way to keep ourselves sane. 🤣 thanks for the samples for the green version, can't wait to try them!
