Very well presented salt alternative
As you can see in the pictures, this product is well packaged and looks great to even give as a gift for someone's kitchen. It comes with a leaflet explaining who they are, and what is beneficial about vegetarian salt. I have used the salt on a good number of occasions. It is already "grinded" so would not go well in a grinding salt shaker. I am unsure about the long term benefits, but I as a vegetarian appreciate the fact that this does taste like real salt and has health benefits compared to regular sea salt. The only thing that I would give new customers getting this product advanced notice, is that it is very concentrated. The first time I used this when I was cooking, I put in about the same amount that I would with regular sea salt, and my food came out very salty. So you will need to do a little trial and error, but the taste is good. Good recommendation for your own kitchen, or as a gift.

Interesting salt alternative
Salt is possibly my favourite food and I definitely have too much of it in my diet. Saltwise claim this salt has 50% less sodium while retaining a salty taste. I think I agree, although the taste isn't quite the same as 'real' salt. It's not worse, it's just different in a way that's hard to describe. The taste difference is less noticeable than sugar alternatives, at least. The salicornia salt pretty much behaves like regular salt. You can sprinkle it on top for extra seasoning or integrate it into dishes while cooking. It will dissolve in the same way and seems to have similar chemical properties. eg: it will help extract moisture from ingredients. This gift box is intended to be a gateway into using Salicornia, I guess, so it's quite pricey and you get some accessories like a tiny salt shaker and a sturdy branded totebag. The refills are a bit cheaper by volume, though obviously much more expensive than regular table salt. It's hard to tell whether my salt intake has really lessened overall, but it can't hurt to at least reduce it in my own cooking. Overall, if you're interested in reducing your salt intake, this could be a good option. Perhaps a more economical option would be to buy one of the refills which is just the ingredient.

A more healthy alternative normal table salt with a good taste, but at a significant premium
First the positives, I am a person who does tend to add a lot of salt to my food, so anything that gives me the same flavour, but with half the sodium has to be a good thing and this does taste just as good as normal. With the natural vitamins and minerals this also contains, this would seem to be a winner, but at a price and one other drawback. There are two large pots of this, and it also comes with its own small shaker. I do not feel opening the jar every time is convenient and so am using the shaker and after a few weeks, I have noticed it has becoem harder to actually shake salt out of this. I am assuming this might beause it is getting slighty damp. This goes back to the price, which is very high compared to standard table salt. I really do like this salt, but the price might be a blocker for some.

Very pleasant tasting substitute for regular table salt. Care should be taken closing the jars
[For the sake of transparency, I received this item for free through the Amazon Vine programme on condition that I leave an honest review. I give this review honestly and the fact that I did not pay for this item has not influenced my rating] I used this salt both for home cooking a meal of my own and on a couple of fish & chips meals. The flavour is much like regular table salt but has much less of an aftertaste. Having a lower sodium content, it's hugely beneficial to those who have to reduce their salt intake. The package is presented very nicely with the salt being in two jars along with there being a small salt shaker, a tote bag and a green salt sample. I found the salt to be somewhat finer than most table salt grains, almost akin to the indigestion salts you took back in the day. The jar screw threads are somewhat finicky so you have to be take care to close the lid properly on the jar as the salt does take on water vapour from the air easily. Despite minor annoyances with the jars, the salt is a really nice product. Yes, it's a lot more expensive than your run of the mill table salt but the niche it fills and the rather nice presentation go beyond comparison.

Tasty, strong, nice extras in the kit
As with all food items, I need some time to use it before I can fully review it, having had it for a few weeks I can say the following... also, please bare in mind I have no 'proof' or anything for the following, it's just a feeling I have from using it. Yes, it tastes like salt, the consistency is more or a very fine sand that melts on your tongue, personally I'm not bothered by it at all, while it tastes a bit stronger than salt the taste seems to fade a fair bit faster than normal salt and the aftertaste, while not unpleasant, is... different, again I must stress if you like salt this is very unlikely to be an issue, it just tastes vaguely different... also, I'm not sure if it's my imagination but I feel like this salt is less noticeable in very hot foods. The kit comes with a nice bag, two glass containers with the salt and a salt shaker, personally I didn't find the salt shaker that useful but it's nice to have nonetheless, if and as I learn more I'll update this, cheers.

Healthier salt!
Having heard various "sound bytes" re:- "Healthier Salt" in the media I was pleased to be offered the opportunity to review this "Premium Healthy Salt" on behalf of the Amazon Vine Programme because this "Saltwise Healthy Salt" is claimed to only have just half the sodium of common salt. This Low Sodium Salt Substitute apparently comprises of a plant-based mineral salt, hence can be described as a natural product;- as can "common salt". The salt arrived attractively packaged in the style of a "gift box" with some extras that I hadn't anticipated. The extras included a canvas shopping bag and an attractively designed small metal salt shaker for use at the dining table. Unfortunately when I removed the base cap of the shaker to put some salt in an unpleasant smell reminiscent of a metal polish exuded from within the shaker. I've subsequently left the shaker to soak in warm soapy water, and will check to see if the unpleasant smell has cleared in a few more days. I have now used some of the low sodium salt in my vegetarian cooking and whilst I cannot truthfully say that I could taste any difference to my cooking as a result, I'm prepared to be optimistic and at least tell myself that I have presumably consumed less potassium than if I had simply used "common salt" as I ordinarily do. Considering that this "low sodium salt substitute" is supposed to help me to:- (quote) "Choose wellness, a healthier way to eat" (end of quote) as is implied in the information contained in the listing for this product on the Amazon website it's disappointing that the only two "recipe" cards bundled in with the salt substitute are for "chicken wings" and "beef burgers". In my opinion such foods do not suggest a way to "choose wellness, a happier way to eat". Nevertheless, despite what I consider to be "muddled and mixed messaging" from the company promoting this salt substitute to help achieve a "healthier way of living", I did enjoy the results of using this salt in my own cooking.

Excellent taste but only one surviving jar
I do use a lot of salt on my food so was keen to try this low sodium alternative. The box is lovingly presented with a tote bag and salt shaker included along with some information cards and a few paltry strings of brown paper which nobody thought to actually put under the jars to keep them safe so naturally one arrived in pieces. With all the broken glass mixed in with the salt, that was the end of that jar. The other luckily was undamaged. As far as taste goes it has a properly salty taste, much more so than the potassium chloride alternatives I have been using up to now so the quality is far better than I expected. As far as value for money goes I only received one usable jar so that's why I have only rated with one star. It would have been five stars if the box held the jars safely, what a waste. Even the tote bag would have provided some protection, seems like too much attention was made to making everything look fancy and ecologically friendly and not enough to the practicalities of keeping glass safe.

Salt Is Damp?
It is totally usable and fine, but it does sort of clump up a bit like its been exposed to moisture. I put some in a glass salt shaker so I could see how it did over the week and while it is still moist and a bit clumpy it does still shake okay, but it has already started to clog the shaker holes a bit and will definitely need cleaning before I get to the bottom of the shaker. The salt itself tastes mostly like salt usually does, and if it was on fries I would not notice a difference between it and normal table salt, though it does seem a to have a little less bite to it than average table salt. The shaker was a nice touch, but its a shame they put their logo on it. I understand they want to promote their product, but it just seems everything is covered in advertising these days. Same with the tote bag.. its a really nice bag and I love the โVitamin Seaโ side but again not a fan of the giant logo on the other side. In the end the salt tastes nice and if its as healthy as they say it could be a great alternative, especially for someone who likes a lot of salt. However it is very expensive for salt, even as a healthy alternative.

Great substitute!
Very close to the taste of good salt. I use a lot of salt, probably more than I should. So this is great to reduce my sodium intake. I use it as a finishing salt, especially on potatoes, where I tend to use a lot of salt.

Food tastes good again.
This such a great product. I have struggled with a low salt diet but no more. This has really expanded the range of food I can eat. A little bit goes a long way with a strong salt flavor. Aside from being healthier it makes food taste like food again with much less sodium. Ahh! Avocados and tomatoes again!

Excellent plant based salt replacement.
I gave up salt because it is not good for us. It comes from a rock, for goodness sake. This is a wonderful replacement. Tastes just like salt.

good salt but messy
This salt should have been very well packaged. It comes with 2 jars of salt, a very cute and small shaker and a tote bag. The whole set is very organized in a box that looks quite fancy. It makes a very giftable item because of how nice everything is organized in the box. However, one of the jars was leaking salt, it appears that there was salt accumulating on the lid, which caused it to not seal properly so there was salt all over the box and caused a huge mess to clean up when I open the box. The salt was very good and I like that it's healthier than regular salt but I was not happy about the mess.
