Unique RV Sensor Cleaner – 32 oz. | For RV and Boat Black Water Holding Tanks | Cleans and Restores Level Gauges | Works On Old and New Problems

We're full-time RVers with two black tanks. We had them both hydro-cleaned back about 6-months ago (cost: $275 + camp site fees). The sensors worked for about 3 months and then started misreading again. I heard about this product, but was dubious, so I bought 3 bottles. We followed the instructions: 1) drained / rinsed Black Tank #2, 2) Added Sensor Cleaner treatment (1/2 bottle for the treatment), 3) filled the tank with 35 gallons of water via tank rinse system (used garden hose flow meter), and 4) let it set for 3.75 days. We used Black Tank #1 while we let Black Tank #2 "clean". When I drained it, Black Tank #2 was reading "E" for the first time in months. No additional rinsing was needed. I was very shocked to see it work so well. (Cost: $24 for both tanks + camp site fees). This product is well worth it! Note: If your system is heavily "slugged", then you might need to rinse it up to 3 times. If it is still misreading, treat it a second time following the process.

I have been using this for a couple seasons now and it works well. My black tank sensor was always showing 3/4 full and this cleaned it up. I usually follow the directions and also add a couple bags of ice to help with the sensor cleaner during the drive around period. Does not work as well if you just pour it in and wait for it to work.

I saw progress after the first bottle, however, it did not completely clear up our sensors giving us faulty readings. About a month after running 2 treatments (1 bottle) in our system, I decided to purchase a second bottle for 2 additional treatments. I am able to see an empty tank on our level gauge more frequently, however, as we frequently go on 2-3 day trips, getting a full tank does not happen and we dump 'early' and I believe that has led to further buildup. Overall, I think this product has its place and will continue to make it a part of our maintenance cycle to fight buildup in our system. It is a bit expensive and I still notice struvite in our dump lines, so I have adjusted my rating according to those observations.

After all this time, I can now confidently say that this did not work for us. We ran this twice, and the monitor still always showed 3/4 full. Today, we got the Camco RV Holding Tank Swivel Stik Rinser and we were shocked at how much it cleaned out.

We used this in combination with the tornado shower placed near oppesite of the sensors and black tank outlet valve. Filled the black tank half way with the tornado to spray things down well. Then added the half bottle through the toilet. Then finished filling the tank with the tornado so it would mix well & not have to drive it around. 36 hours later, we dumped the black tank & flushed it with the tornado shower. Drain water went completely clear and sensors are all working great! This does not give your system a good smell, but there's no bad smell because everything cleaned so well. Highly recommend including using it especially with the rv tornado shower.

This product did nothing to remedy the issues I had with my tank sensors. The old Vinegar and baking soda method solved it though. Any cleaner will work when moving down the road as the agitation does most of the work. Unfortunately the claim is that it will work when you are not moving. Neither this or the unique tank cleaner worked for me. I started using the Unique tank treatment and am not impressed as that's when my problems started. In all honesty I have never had tank or sensor issues using CAMCO TST which I have used since 2012 and which I switched back to. So why did I switch in the first place? Well everyone said Unique is super, fantastic, wonderful and terrific. I guess my tanks think otherwise and no issues since switching back..

My septic sensor only has 2 readings: 2/3 and FULL. I bought this cleaner for cleaning out any old debris from before I took ownership and to hoped clean the sensor. I used it about a week and a half ago and saved half for the next fill. I’m stationary so I didn’t know how well it would work. I added warm water until the tank was near full and let it sit 24h. When I opened the black water valve the septic appeared to empty a lot faster with much darker coloring and a sludgy look. When using my Sani-t-flush more sludge worked its way out so I was confident that the cleaner was working. And I’ve noticed more time between septic dumps. Unfortunately, the sensor didn’t change at all... until yesterday!!!! When this is 2/3 full I’d like to put in the rest just to finish cleaning the black tank out. I am impressed!
