As another reviewer commented, the barb tips of these emitters are a little rough. If it is a issue a razor is a quick fix.They do come apart for easy cleaning and the disc inside appears to be a silicone compound so nothing should stick to it.Unless you have a large garden, I figure there are so many in the package you can throw away any defective ones and still have a lot to use.

Drip emittersThese emitters cost about 15 cents each, other much better quality emitters cost about 30 cents - but the quality ones are well worth it. The difference is visible on the inside AND outside.At first look ALL the emitters can be seen to have uncut burrs where they should be inserted into the drip line tubing, which would impede or even block flow, or the burrs could dislodge and clog the emitters. (see photos)On the inside there is a small disc - no holes. On the quality emitters there is a disc that catches debris, with holes (see photo)If these are the only emitters you can afford, make these tweaks. - remove the burrs and OPEN the emitter - I had to use a pair of pliers to open the ones I opened, if the emitter had been attached to a drip line on the ground this would have been a major pain.I'm giving this 3 stars because of the cost matches the quality, but I'll be returning them.
