Great idea
Great product. I covered the cubes my cat used as a scratching post. Works really well.

Great for cat furniture
I used this to cover particle board for a cat scratching post. It’s like a sturdy burlap. The adhesive backing is strong, but I still needed to use a glue gun to get it to stick firmly to the wood. One star off because it only came in one size, which wasn’t wide enough so I had to layer. It’s perfect for this scratching post instead of hard to clean carpet. If I were using it on a sofa arm, it would stick fine for that.

Good amount, good texture, sticky adhesive
I got this mainly for two stray kittens that we recently rescued, as they needed something to scratch in the room they were quarantined in. This roll of jute mat worked really well. I got some cheap scrap countertop pieces from a local home improvement store, and cut a piece of the jute mat to wrap around the front and sides of one of them. I also sprinkled a little catnip (not included with the item, just something I had already) on the mat to help attract them to the mat more quickly. They liked it right away, and began using it within about an hour of my setting it up for them. There is plenty more in the roll, so I can make several others or stick this to other areas in the house if needed. My phone wasn't quick enough to get a picture of one of the kittens using it, but I did take a photo of them next to it so you can see a size comparison. For reference, these kittens are about 4 months old.

Smells horrible and frays very badly
I tried to use this and the smell was hideous. Besides the smell, it frays horribly. I will not be using this around my pets or humans. Yuck.

Won't Work as Well on Walls (and other smooth surfaces)
It definitely works, although I found it to be more than a bit unsightly. I think it is perhaps better utilized as protection for sofas & chairs etc. I bought this to use on my walls, particularly the corner posts, but found myself having stick it back on in certain areas due to the adhesive giving way to changes in atmosphere. I eventually pulled it all down except for one piece and switched to the spray instead. Would consider it again if it came in different colors other than burlap.

REALLY good adhesion...
Really impressed with how well this stuff sticks. It's a rough material, but this is what we wanted. The cats love material like this.We used it on some steps that we anchored to a wall and also used it to cover some old scratching posts that had worn down. They're good as new now.The roughness makes it a little hard to cut, but it's not too bad (as you can see, I had no problem cutting to the shape I wanted).

Used to refinish cat condo
I used this to refurbish the legs of a cat condo. Looks great but giving 4 stars because the adhesive isn't particularly strong.
