4k laser, 3200 Lumens, excellent picture quality and vivid colour
It is a long waited upgrade from my 4 years old JMGO smart uhd projector, which has same 0.47 DMD chip and MTK media processing chip with DLP light source. After extensive usage and testing for a week, it is truly worthwhile with a lot of improvement. It now has automatic screen adjustment and smart focus with the help of tof camera so I don't have to manually corner to fit the projector screen. The colour of picture is also vivid and more saturated, as shown in the test screenshots. It is much brighter than the old projector and could display more tiny details, which is very useful when playing xbox game. The only downside of gaming option is that it could only support 1080p60 rather than 2160p60 but it is very hard to notice the difference after projected in such large screen. The media player app is also very responsive and could play various media file without difficulties. The Mars Pro could stream network media file over SMB with file size up to 15GB without any delay in both pic or audio. If the file size is over 15gb, you will start to encounter some issues so I would suggest to copy it to USB stick to play locally rather than via network media server. It also supports various the media cast protocol like Airplay, DLNA, Huawei share or Miracast. Projection from ipad pro or mobile phone is seamless and very fast. Finally, the option to install GMS is very easy to manage. You can install google service with few clicks or just copy to usb drive to install app locally.

Great picture and sound, great buy!!
I was undecided which 4k projector to purchase between this one and the Xgimi Horizon Pro. I bought then both to make a direct comparison and opted for the Dangbei. The Xgimi is a good projector, however the Dangbei is brighter and has slighter better contrast and deeper blacks in terms of the picture quality. Also the sound from the in built speakers is more bass from the Dangbei. I connect mine to my home theater AV but when I just want to use the inbuilt speakers they are very capable. The Dangbei feels and looks like it has been qell put together, more so than the Xgimi which is smaller and lighter and therefor more portable. I have my Dangbei in my front room set up permanently so no need for the benefit of portability. The software is Linux which I find swift and easy to navigate. The one con I have thus far is that for some reason I cannot get Netflix to work, even though this is supposed to be a Netflix certied device. It comes up with an error code. I have a streaming device connected to it so its not the end of the world but worth noting for any potential buyers. The remote is made of plastic and feels cheap compared to the build quality of the Dangbei and I think they could have made an effort to provide something with a more premium feel. By comparison the Xgimi remote is very nice indeed and has a premium feel, being made of metal. It feels like an apple type remote! So far I am very pleased with my purchase, I got mine in the black Friday sale, so it was a discounted price. It is a blinding piece of technology, its a Laser projector, where as the Xgimi is an LED and there is a distinct difference between the pictures they show as I have mentioned above. The Xgimi is very good and if I was not able to compare them side by side I would have been content with the Xgimi.I hope this review has been of assistance fir those experiencing a similar dilemma as myself regarding these projectors at this price point. I imagine that the Xgimi Horizon Ultra delivers even better picture and sound etc. however it was outside my price range.

Amazing image and fantastic adjustment options
This is the first projector I've had that actually 'fits the image to the screen' with one button! The image is so so bright with many many customisable options. The os is fast and easy to use.The best way I found to get good audio is to use the SPDIF output on the rear via an optical audio cable and compatible system but you might be happy enough with the built in speakers. It's well worth the money and I would be very surprised if you could find better for this price. I had the Hisense c1 and to be honest for more than double the price it wasn't that much better.Enjoy!

Nice projector, bad multimedia system
I like the image quality, but as a consumer product it’s full of compromises.+ Image quality+ A lot of basics are good: it’s quiet, fast to turn on/off, responds fast to clicks with remote (UI is not laggy), Bluetooth pairing with speakers- I have a shelf where the projector is set up near the ceiling. It has to be placed upside down, but there are no stands on the top side. The logo on the front is upside-down as well.- No google play store preinstalled. Can’t download and install via built-in browser. Had to use a computer to download APKs to a USB drive.- Bad at playing VP9 codec, lags a lot. It’s a problem because on YouTube the most of new videos in HQ are VP9 coded. And other formats are 1080p at max. So after opening a new video format switching might be needed. Found an advice to install a Chinese firmware where it’s fixed, but I am not a fan of this solution.- 3D. It supports 3D, but good luck finding/preparing a supported container as it’s very selective. Only for files supported by built-in player app. Only some of those videos which could be open by system player could be displayed in 3D actually. It’s often that switching to 3D mode does nothing. There is no support of BluRay, iso. Can’t switch to 3D from YouTube. I have a subscription for a streaming platform with 3D videos — doesn’t work as well.- Supports mouse, but not all buttons in the UI are clickable — keyboard, random dialogs. No point in using mouse if you need a remote from time to time. Text input with this remote is not convenient.- No Airplay for Mac/iPhone- Autofocus, auto keystone. Neither worked well for me, did everything manually. Sometimes have to adjust focus despite the position is static.- Gaming. At first the input lag disappointed me. Had to spent significant time to find settings to enable Game Mode to make it suitable for games. And after enabling Game Mode I am not sure if I enabled it just for HDMI output or for built-in apps as well, disabling misc. picture beautifiers for playing videos. Not sure if I want to keep it or to return it minding the price of it.

Capable and Bright 4K projector
Bought to replace an old Epson 3LCD 1080P projector which had given good service for over 10 years. Unsure abought the Danbei brand at first but a little research helped convince me Dangbei was serious projector company. This laser projector is bright enough to use in a well lit room but obviously much better when ambient light can be controlled. Picrure quality is superb. Machine boots up very quickly, about 10 seconds. Auto focus and auto keystone is a bit hit and miss but not an issue as there are manual options for fine tuning. Smart features work very well and built in sound is also very good and easily fills a 6 x 4 metre room. Obviously a dedicated sound system is better. Recommended.
