Made my own trolly for this monster. Easy to manoeuvre an 11kg gas bottle in this manner. No need to turn this flame thrower on full, just a slight turn and this burner is like a Dragon. Due to the size of the burner head, be careful not to overshoot with your burning and be prepared to have a jug of water near you to extinguish any fires you may inadvertently start. Keep it away from sheds whilst in use unless you want to see it go up in flames. This is a powerful burner. Be careful when using it especially near your plants and near tarmac surfaces. Works well on Tegula brickwork. Could do with an additional narrower head unit for more concentrated burning. Happy to recommend.

Excellent product, very rapidly incinerates weeds, infinitely better than the basic ones which run off a canister. Some key points to know: - it needs a high pressure screw valve gas cylinder, e.g. Calor Gas 6kg Propane - NOT the press-on BBQ type - ear plugs are essential, it sounds like a jet engine - if doing a large area, a respirator is advisable as smoke will be generated - have some water in a watering can nearby in case you set something on fire - don't wear sandals when using it, heavy boots are advisable - a trolley with bungee cords will ease moving the gas cylinder around - don't do it on a Sunday if you have neighbours, they will hate you!

Okay, I had the smaller version, and needed a more robust product. I have a field and front and back garden. Don’t want to use chemicals, have chickens, and a cat, so don’t want to kill or harm any of them. The small gas bottle that’s easy to carry, as photo, lasts about 2 hours on constant and high, but if you turn the setting down, then it doesn’t sound and look like you’re trying to solder something. But makes a high flame, and burns the weeds well. I suggest don’t go anywhere near your fence, or anything you know is flammable, you will start to feel overconfident, and that’s the dangerous time. That’s when you actually yes, even you, you actually will set light to something you don’t want to burn. So have a bucket nearby all the time. This is an excellent product. Really easy to use. Very effective and environmentally friendly. So it’s not really too much, it will last you a lifetime. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Real boys toy. Fantastic tool for weeding. Takes care of most weeds, although dandelions are one weed it will scorch but won't penetrate to the roots. You may have to repeat burning a couple of weeks later and dig out any persistent deep rooted weeds. 👍👍 Really powerful torch, so be careful around wooden fences and sheds. 🔥 I would recommend keeping a full watering can or hose at the ready, just in case. Bought this to burn off weeds etc on gravel. If anything it is too powerful and you can very easily do a lot of damage. Of course this is easily solved by turning down the gas pressure. Has a simple on off pressure regulator for ease of use. Build quality is good but I would advise you to bring it indoors over the winter as the lever is prone to rust and it can stick a little bit. The hose is adequate for the job and super strong. I am pleased with it.

I'm doing some Japanese wood burning, freeing patio of moss & weeds connected it to a 13kg propane bottle refill £42..it has many variations that can be set from a low pilot light to a very powerful burner so it needs a competent operator. Really well built from quality materials. Very good price when compared to others on the market Fast delivery I recommend this product

I started off with one of the £16 burners that used the small campingaz canisters of butane. Was ok, but slow. And as the canister emptied it got cold and it ran out of punch until you let it warm up again. I liked the principle however and upscaled to this with a propane cylinder. This blasts with 10-20 times the punch and you can cover an area fast. Minor problems would be 1. not setting fire to near-by fence/shed/lawns etc, and 2. having to haul a big gas bottle around - would work best with a trolley (I'm working on that). I've only used this a few times so I can't give any opinion on how quick it burns through a certain weight or money's worth of gas. I'll maybe update this review when I manage to empty my first bottle. (hopefully that will be in about 5 years time). Other people have complained about no embedded spark, but on the £16 things this always fails after a while due to the heat, and I don't really find it a chore to use a camping lighter with a long stem to get the pilot going, - it's kind of the easiest part of the whole job?!

We’ve been struggling to keep our paved driveway clear of weeds effectively. Even after spending days removing by hand, dousing with liquid weed killer and re-sanding the gaps they just keep coming back. We were considering an electric weed wand but after reading so many mixed reviews I thought one these torches might be a better choice. Ok so you have to get yourself propane from a supplier which is pricey (approx £68) because of the bottle deposit but after that it’s just refill cost (around £30). The good news though is... OMG this does do the job, and fast! Literally obliterates weeds to dust. We’ve only just used this so I can’t tell you yet how long the weeds stay away but from reading up, the consensus is up to a couple of months. Whatever method you use to kill weeds they come back, especially for us living with overhanging trees and park next door. The good thing though is, when you have to use this weed torch it’s quick and chemical free. NOTE: Be careful around your hedges and plants etc as it’s like pointing a nasa rocket at full blast!
