Very powerful unit.
Received it just yesterday. So, time will tell as to how it holds up. My last corded unit had played out after about 30 years of use. I’m really impressed after my first experience. I was a little hesitant since I had never heard of this brand. It is a little heavy, but this unit is very powerful and breezes through large diameter hedge with no hesitation at all. Really like these clippers.

"Can't judge a cover by its book"
The media could not be loaded. ... if that makes sense. And I was not a skeptic for long. The first thing that struck me about the Mowox- a brand I have never seen or even heard of- apart from the unmarked box it came in- was checking the manual, which by some quirk I always do first. It’s rather crudely printed sheets, cut and stapled raggedly, then folded in half for good measure to make it even more difficult to use. But, I figured, on the other hand operating and maintaining a hedge trimmer is not rocket science, ask any “yard care specialist”. But, I consider it a tiny indicator of the product- either they are so confident they don’t care about how it’s operated and maintained, or just sloppy. And a plain brown box, labeled only with the manufacturer’s name. But the tool itself- just short of amazing, but still short. The battery slid easily into the charger and was good to go in a half-hour. I’m not yet sure of length of use on a charge, but judging from the power I see in use, depending on the job of course I’d give it 30-40 minutes. As I was looking it over, I noticed the blade guard was pretty cheap and flimsy, resembling the disposable guards you'd find on a cheap kitchen knife.and due to warping actually took some skill to replace after use. I also found the blades to be about the sharpest I have seen, barring upper-end models- since this is the case, I would have expected a blade guard that would not only prevent an unintentional cut while in use (god forbid that should ever happen) but just sliding it over the business end is a risk. I found the one from my old Lowe's cheap house brand, it fit perfectly, is made of higher quality material and makes this a much better system..As you can see and hopefully hear in the video, the motor has an electronic soft-start, which is also kinda cool and makes stalls and burnout that could damage motor and battery nearly impossible. (This is what probably caused the premature death of my last battery powered trimmer, but that was 10 years ago, things have come a long way since then.) I found almost anything that could fit in the blades would be cut, (a finger) some a little harder, (a finger bone) but as you can see it did its thing on a nearly ½” branch, a digit would slow it down not at all. And as you can also see in the last two photos, I just brushed a finger along the cutting edge and it sprung a leak.I tested on a lovely cedar I’ve been unable to get to about halfway down a 600 foot long driveway, obviously I don’t have any extension cord(s) that long. Like it that would be a good idea anyway- and hauling my generator for an hour’s work would be stupid, clearly a battery powered unit is the only way to go. Until now, I had never heard of Mowox, and since I am still in awe of the Troy-Bilt CORE TB4300 40V 545-CFM 125 MPH Cordless Electric Leaf Blower Kit and despite liking the Mowox just fine, it seems a little on the flimsy side so I still plan to keep my battery buy-in by picking up a far superior Troy-Bilt CORE TB4400 40V 22-Inch Cordless Hedge Trimmer (Bare Tool Only) At first I ran out of things to cut before I ran out of juice, but at another location I cut some pretty nasty brush for about an hour and the battery only dropped two bars. Not bad. I have as yet been unsuccessful in procuring a spare but it might prove unnecessary. Several other brands look very similar and it’s not unlikely they were produced by the Ningbo Daye Garden Machinery Co Ltd., but I would for sure try to find one locally before selecting it, the odds of success seem small. In use, it essentially is, so far, unstoppable. It’s light and fairly easy to wield, although the safety lock consists of the entire front handle, so single handed overhead cuts are not possible without a mod- do so at your own risk. I did, and found it to suddenly increase the effectiveness by well, an arms length. And the danger, given the sharpness of the blades and the ability to cut through just about anything non-metallic, (although it seemed interested in a welded wire fence I was working around). I do not recommend this procedure unless you fully understand the risk, and even at that you would still be taking a chance.“Always use the safety lockout, and use only an approved ladder in accordance with safety precautions”, says I as a disclaimer. The truck bed got kinda slippery after a few minutes work, it makes slash in a hurry. For what it is, the Mowox is relatively impressive and affordable, I think if one can eventually find a spare battery it would be a great solution at a reasonable price.

heavy unit, but powerful and much more convenient than a corded trimmer
I've been using a corded hedge trimmer for many years. This is my first time using a battery powered trimmer. I am pretty impressed by this device. The battery is removable and appears to be well sealed. You charge it in an external cradle, which I like since I don't have to bring the whole trimmer into the house where the power is. It charges in a couple of hours. The battery attaches to the trimmer securely. You have to engage both hands to start the trimmer, for safety. The motor is surprisingly powerful, easily cutting all some hedges that my corded trimmer had trouble with (also possibly because these blades are very sharp). My main complaint is that the battery is somewhat heavy. The whole unit weighs about 7 pounds and the battery is half of that. In comparison, my corded trimmer is half the weight and much less tiring to use. After about 1 hour of trimming, I was worn out, but the battery has more than half the charge left. I do like not having to deal with a long power cord, of course.

Needed something strong to cut through a nightmare of sticks!
See attached backyard photos: I had a Black & Decker with a 20V battery that I was using to try to manage this. I figured I’d start out with it to see what I could get done. Not only would it get caught up and auto-stop itself every other minute, the battery life was short. Then right out of the box, I put this Mowox MNA4971 (with a 40V battery to work). It is cutting through these with abandon! It’s rarely getting caught and shutting itself off. I have been using it for well over an hour and the battery life is great (has a battery life monitor on the end, which is awesome). It feels very safe and requires both a trigger and a handle bar to be pressed down in order to get the blades moving. It is about 1/3 heavier than the 20V Black & Decker I was using, so be warned that if physical work with your hands and arms is not your strong suit, this is going to be a lot more difficult for you to maneuver than something smaller. I am having fun doing yard work with this thing, and that’s pretty foreign to me. This is nicely priced. I’d never heard of the brand Mowox before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m really impressed with what this can handle, how safe I feel operating it, and how long it can go without slowing down.

Really does the job!
This is a good trimmer and seems to “eat” everything. I have a 1960’s house which abound in Pfitzer bushes. We are gradually pulling out what we can but until I found this nifty trimmer, trimming the remaining ones was hard. I inherited my Father’s corded trimmer which requires a cord to trail around. This is so much better as it is far more powerful and being battery operated is much easier to maneuver. I can’t believe what it cuts thru - 1/2” evergreen branches are a breeze and while it is long which makes maneuvering with it more of a challenge, I didn’t have to keep going over and over as I did with my smaller trimmer.I am about 5’4” and certainly not a weightlifter, and I found the weight of this unit to be easy to handle. I like the handle grip and the trigger on and off. This allows you to maneuver the unit using the handle but turn it on only with the handle trigger. I think that this is much safer - at least I was more comfortable with it than with others that I have used. This is a well thought out design and it certainly does the job. It is going to take me three times longer to clean up what I cut than it did to cut it.This is not a toy while you have to build in charging time, the charge lasts quite a while. I used it for about 35 min and it still has lots of charge left.
