I was going to buy a really expensive mat but boy am I happy I went with this instead. It’s cushy and comfy, colorful and fun. Our two small kids love it! It does collect hair, crumbs and all sorts of fun things, so we shake it out regularly. We got the rectangular version and it can be washed in a standard washer. I fold it in half and roll it up to get a more even clean. I just shoved it in the first time I tried to wash it and all it did was get my washer off balance and nothing was clean. The square might be easier to wash, but I like the extra space. Be prepared - upon opening there was a serious new product odor. I am sensitive to smells, so I smelled it for over a month even when we aired it outside for a couple weeks. It made me hesitant to have our baby on it until the smell passed. It doesn’t move and has good grip, which gives peace of mind. The thickness makes sitting on a hard floor comfortable. It cannot be folded flat easily and stored in a corner, it’s a pretty gangly thing, so we just keep it out. Overall, it was a great value and I’m happy with the product but there were a couple hiccups.

I bought this for my grandson for when he comes over for a visit. It is so nice. It is very dense yet soft. It stays in place, making crawling easier to manage. It is easy to clean and states that it is machine washable, although we have just spot cleaned it thus far. The first day, my daughter laid down on it and fell asleep immediately. So much for a play mat, it became a nap mat. She is purchasing one for her house to replace the two mats she has. The baby loves to reach and touch the contrasting black dots on the mat. Very well made in structure and color scheme.

The cloth on the top is silky/smooth, which is not ideal for learning to crawl for a 6 month old. Other wise, the material quality is good.
