NFHS match ball, not for practice
Official CIF soccer ball for matches and all high school matches are suppose to use a spalding NFHS ball. We have been using this ball for 4 seasons and they are a match ball. They require air daily, but that is common for higher cost match balls. The latex bladder give the ball soft touch with higher PSI than Butyl bladder balls. The PU upper is nice a soft, but slippery when brand new. The TF-5000 generally lasts our high school team 5-6 games with 3 balls in rotation during those games. If you buy any other high end match ball you are going to get similar use, they are not meant for daily/biweekly practices and will not hold up.The criticism I have of the ball is its performance under wet conditions; the ball is really slick due to a gloss coating on the PU upper. Also you need to double check the balls when you get them because we have had a couple that were not round and needed to be returned.I buy 14-20 of them at the beginning of each season and they are disposable, they will not last a season and that is not what they are meant for.If you are looking for a NFHS match grade ball this is on par with most other manufacturers (Nike, Adidas, Puma, etc)

Solid
These are required by our state organization for game balls. They work well overall and have been holding up for our program this season.

Horrible ball
For the price this ball is one of the worst on the market. It is an absolute piece of garbage. The ball comes with a sticker that says "do not remove plug during 1st year of use or warranty will be voided." In order to pump the ball up you have to remove the plug - so just by pumping it up you void the warranty. Well done Spalding. The ball seem very light and cheaply made. It loses its shape easy and constantly needs to be pumped up. If I could give this product zero stars I would. This ball is probably one of the worst balls on the market. This ball is the official match ball for CIF soccer playoff games in Southern California high schools. Shame on you CIF for requiring schools to pay 50 dollars a pop for this piece of junk.

Spaulding Ball OK
The ball appears smaller than most other size 5 soccer balls and does have some problems keeping air.

Great Match Ball
We have used this as a match ball in high school matches and found it to be a great ball. It does get somewhat waterlogged in on wet pitches, but that is what you would expect in a latex bladdered ball. Of course, since Spalding is the national sponsor of high school soccer, we really don't have much choice. Still it's great value when it's priced $25-30. However, I would get the Spalding TF-3000 if you need something more durable. It has a butyl bladder meaning its essentially weather-proof and doesn't leak air.

Price
I've had these balls now for 2 seasons in a very cold wet/snow area , and they've been great.I purchased three more last week(Amazon's limit) for $15 each and now I am really dissapointed that I went back to purchase 3 more and the price is at $38 each.Great ball!!

Keep this ball dry
I purchsed this ball as a replacement ball for general use a month into the season. In our 1st practice in the rain, the ball became heavy and water logged. I tried to send the ball back via the vendor I purchased it from. Spaulding did replace it with a disclaimer saying the ball is not meant for use in heavy rain or wet conditions. I was verry dissapointed with the quality of this ball as comapred to others of similar price.
