Good quality, accuracy and support over the years
My wife and I plus my nurse recommend this product. My wife bought the prior generation of the same model (5250) which worked very well for her for years. This past year I began using it at the suggestion of my doctors and paired it with my iPhone so I could send reports over time to them. I was pleased with the reasonable accuracy, precision and the simplicity of the unit.Recently the reports generated by my wife's unit, which we guess is 5-6 years old, began to show reason for doubt in its accuracy and precision. and I bought the newer "Silverโ model of the 5250 at my nurses suggestion. Right out of the box, I had it working and thus far it has performed as well or better than my wifeโs old unit. One major problem I did have was pairing it with my iphone. A quick call to Omronโs technical support line found an alternate pairing method that worked (other than the method given in the manual. The technician was not sure why this was necessary but I suspect that the Omron app was hindered by the old bluetooth pairing with the older unit.

Super Easy To Use - As Well As Accurate
My wife and I both have used this for a while now. The readings have correlated with whatโs taken at our doctorโs office. Weโre both retired medical people who are very familiar with taking BP readings. The automatic devices that are ubiquitously used can be quite variable depending upon proper cuff usage and placement. The cuff on this device is the killer feature. It is by far the easiest Iโve ever seen for a single individual to place by himself. For me I just stick my hand through the curled cuff, slide it up my arm to about an index fingerโs width above my elbow crease and stick the Velcro end onto the cuff. I donโt even have to tighten it; it almost attaches itself. The more common cuffs can be difficult to snug up properly, especially if trying to do it solo, and because it can slide around the arm it can be difficult to place over the proper location. This all contributes to the variability that can be seen with these self inflating monitors. Which is why doctors regularly retake a pressure reading by using a stethoscope after seeing an odd result that was obtained by the assistant who first takes your pressure. There is no such problem with this Omron, the cuff alleviates almost all such drawbacks. It is possible that those with larger arms may have some issue with the cuff, perhaps leading to some of the review comments about being painful or too tight. The larger cuff option could resolve such issues. I canโt speak to that as my wife and I have distinctly different sized arms and have had no issues. There is an app but since my wife and I will both use this on occasion, and since the app requires fairly significant personal details with features that we do not need, we have not downloaded and used it. The reviews of the app on the Apple App Store are quite mixed. If you have an Apple device with the Health app you can just add the BP results manually into that section to keep a record, this is what we do.I had also initially considered the iHealth monitor which has very good reviews also and is a little less expensive, but this cuff made the difference. Initially all thatโs needed to do is set the date and time, and even thatโs not totally necessary but it does provide a way to see the trend of the readings since at least 80 results can be stored. After that you just press a button and thatโs it. Results at home when youโre seated quietly and relaxed are more accurate as far as making any health decisions than results taken in a medical setting where youโre almost certain to be somewhat stressed. I highly recommend this device.

I'm glad for the "problems," they probably saved my life.
Initially, I was really disappointed in this product. I kept getting error messages and wildly varying results when it gave me a rating. When I took my wife to the doctor's office a few days later, I asked the nurse to check my BP. Before telling me the results, he said that he had to speak with the doctor. Both he and the doctor came back into the room, the doc told me to lie down for and ECG. Upon completing it, he told me to go to my cardiologist immediately, which I did. My cardiologist told me to go to the ER immediately and that they were waiting for me. Upon arrival, I was immediately wheeled to a cubicle in the ER. Another ECG. The ER cardiologist said we're admitting you immediately for a likely pacemaker procedure. While my resting heart rate was 35 to 31 bpm, I had NO symptoms. I felt fine, no fatigue, no chest pain, no dizziness, etc. During the night my heart rate dropped to 25 bpm, but in the morning, I felt fine. The next morning, I was sent for a stress test. It came back with okay results, but the irregular heart rate remained. Another night and another test the next day. While I actually did better on the second test the profound arrythmia remained. Thursday: the cardiologist came in and said you can go home, BUT, you will be back within a year and the circumstances may not be favorable. I told the doc, "Let's get it done." He agreed. While I was upset with the initial performance, the problems may have actually saved my life. Thank you Omron!! If there were 6 stars, I'd give it to you. Please feel free to use this review however you deem fit.John TicePS: The only thing I don't like is the arm band: way too stiff and uncomfortable to use.

Almost Great (almost)
The velcro on my 7 year old blood pressure monitor was about shot, so I needed a new one. This OMRON, apparently sold exclusively through Amazon, is relatively inexpensive. It includes all the "basics" and omits the "bells and whistles" of the more expensive models. The upper arm cuff is FANTASTIC. Really easy to put on. (In contrast to other monitors where the cuff is a huge hassle.) Operation is easy. I took one star off because the damn thing is TOO PICKY. I need to measure pressure immediately after standing. ANY movement, no matter how TINY, causes the monitor to declare "ERROR E4" and not make a reading. Thus taking a reading upon standing is stressful. Even when I attempt to stand completely rigid, about one time out of five, the machine declares, "ERROR" and the attempt to read blood pressure is lost. I have tried several other brands, both more and less costly, and their horrible arm cuffs made them nearly worthless. To be fair, if you have someone else to put the arm cuff on for you, "who cares?" But, I do this myself. The cuff MATTERS.I really recommend this blood pressure monitor for the ease of use, the basic features, and the GREAT arm strap. If you can remain sitting for every measurement, this will never fail you.

Its accurate well made
I like how solid and well made this bp monitor is. The cuff is made with a fixed curve to it for easy application. The app was easy to download and the monitor paired quick and transmits data quickly after readings.Pros:-Accurate readings: Took several readings and they were all the same range. Measured against my old monitor that gave me erroneous results. This monitor is top notch.-App for tracking readings: has an app for keeping up with readings. The app also links to the Health app in my phone to keep up with weight goals, steps, and bp goals.Cons:-No power cord: It does not come with the power cord although it has a spot for one.-Small carry case: BP monitor and cuff and stuffed in the case and the case is flimsy making it easy to accidentally press the start button.

Excellent Choice!
My (only) two year old BP monitor (different brand), stopped pairing with my phone, and wouldn't pair at all, so started searching for a new one. After exhaustive searching, reaching, etc., I finally settled on the Omron Silver, and glad I did. It's easy to use, paired quickly and gives accurate readings. One of my main requirements was being able to send my readings to my email so I could print them out for my doctor. I couldn't get it to work, so called Omron. A friendly, helpful lady, solved my problem. All I had to do was restart my phone, which I hadn't done since I installed the Omron Connect app. I resent my readings to my phone and they went immediately! The cuff is easy to put on, it's molded and expands to slip on. I have a small frame and small arms, so sometimes the cuffs are too large, this one is perfect, and designed for larger arms too. The display the large and easy to read, just right for my old eyes. All in all, it's a great blood pressure monitor, highly recommend the Omron Silver!

Works well - love the Bluetooth
Bought those to replace my Omron BP 742N which I purchased in 2017 from Amazon. It started to read inaccurately. This was the upgrade - it has Bluetooth along with a fairly simple app, and transfers the data immediately if the Bluetooth is on. I am small framed and previously had to use the kids cuff, meaning I had to special order it, but this new one has a cuff which fits a wide range of arms, including mine. I did special order an AC adapter for the last one and was able to use it for this one. It does not come with an AC adapter and I recommend you buy the Omron adapter for it because they go through batteries pretty quickly.A good product from reliable Omron.

Easy to use, good quality
I was using another blood pressure monitor and got some error messages that made me question its accuracy. Of course, with these home monitors one can never be totally sure of accuracy -- one uses them over time hoping that any major issues will be detected early. In any case, I'm quite satisfied with this device. The build quality of all the components seems to be solid -- the control panel/base unit is surprisingly hefty which I take as a good sign. But the real star of the show here is the cuff -- it's a semi-rigid sleeve that you slip your arm inside and then attach the velcro to it. For people like me who take their blood pressure alone without anyone to assist with placement this cuff design is terrific. Placement is a breeze, and proper placement is essential to getting an accurate reading (see above).I don't use the app or bluetooth feature, so I can't comment on those. But the device works perfectly well without any external connections or data tools if you don't want to track readings over time or record them.Overall I highly recommend this device.

Wasn't sure due to reviews
We really weren't sure as there were a lot of mixed reviews on this one.We are finding it very easy to use and it is quite accurate for us. The app was a bit finicky to set up but now it updates each time we take a reading. We have to do it twice a day every day and are still on the same batteries that still have quite a charge so that is nice that we will not have to go through a lot of them.I also like that you can get a cord if you do not want to go off batteries however I do wish that it would have just been added instead of having to search for the right one.Only real complaint is that my husband has quite large arms and although the band does fit him the way it stay curled up does make it hard for him to use it by himself. Would much prefer to have the band you can use on handed. All in all it was a good purchase and we are happy with it. The travel bag has also come in handy.

So far, so good
Exactly what I was looking for. I was using the monitor passed down from my parents they had used for years. Now that I am of the age I actually need it, I needed something a little more up to date. The Omron Silver BP Monitor did not disappoint. It was easy to set up on blue tooth and sync to my phone and very easy to use. Now I simply bring my daily, weekly, monthly results to my doctor for easy review. It even offers many extras like, it syncs to my google health app, offers a diary, reminders, etc I would recommend this monitor.
