These 5 GHz smart plugs are truly “smart”. After upgrading to a fiber optic system, my 2.4 GHz Amazon smart plugs would not sync/connect. Even though the new ISP said that the new system has switchable megahertz bands that should cover most smart devices, my old smart plugs failed to connect. The Eightree smart plugs found my network and connected via the SmartLife app in less than 30 seconds. Migrating the new smart plug system to my Alexa app took less than 15 seconds. Everything worked seamlessly. The only thing that took time was deleting my Amazon smart plugs and creating new routines. This is perfectly normal and took the standard amount of time per plug. Just realized today I had a lamp that was connected to an Amazon smart plug and was on 24/7. I ordered another 5 MHz plug for the lamp. I am anticipating no issues with setup and migration to my Alexa app. Five stars for this amazingly effective and simple to set up smart plug.

These were easy to set up and are easy to use, controlled via an app on my phone. I was specifically looking for 5GHz compatibility as I had others that would not work with our 5GHZ. They have worked well and are a good value for the price.

I've been using a variety of 2.4Ghz plugs - three different brands. The best was probably the Amazon Basics, but they all were a pain to re-set. "Power off for 10 seconds, then power on, then hold the button for five seconds..." What they never say is "... and hope that this time the device will find the appropriate WiFi SSID." When I got these, two of the four immediately were located by the Smart Things app - about 10 seconds after plugin of the device an icon shows up in the app. After that finishing setup was a breeze. Once Smart Things had them, Alexa acknowledged them immediately. Only issue in my case was that I was replacing the 2.4GHz plugs so I had to delete the old devices before the new devices could use the same names and it didn't occur to me before starting. The other two plugs required being reset (hold button for 12 seconds) and then they worked just like the first two. Unfortunately, this is not obvious and it took me a few minutes to deduce this. If you're new to smart plugs, skip the 2.4GHz ones and go straight to the 5GHz models - you'll find them much easier to setup. If you're tired of resetting plugs, it's worth the investment of moving to these new models.

I'm a smart home fan and I currently have 13 smart home devices. With this smart plug added, that made the list 14. It's really compact, very easy to connect because it supports both 2.4\text{GHz} and 5\text{GHz} WiFi connections. It reacts very fast. The 'Smart Life' app makes it easier to calculate daily electricity usage and daily power consumption. You can also create a routine with Google Home or Alexa. In a couple of words, it's worth it to have at home. Definitely recommended.

I needed a way to turn off my garage door opener when I am away so it could not be opened. But also a way to enable it when I returned to drive in. This item will do that very well. Instructions are a little confusing and could use more details. Especially using Apple Home when it is corrupted you have to do a complete wipe and reinstall everything not always possible. I wanted a way to bypass Apple home and do a direct WIFI and this product did that also it is 5GHz.

Try as I might, these things are not worth the effort. The are offline more than online, and recently they dropped completely from my network. Tried to rest, and before the convoluted software would allow me to proceed, it wanted to EMAIL me, not TEXT me, a code. Well, you have 60 seconds only to input the code. It take 2 to 3 minutes for their email to come in with the code. By then the option to enter my accont expires. Who uses EMAIL for secondary authorization anyway? I have not joice but to toss these things in the dumper and look for another provider/

Love these to plug my etrike battery chargers in so I can check status of the charge and set to auto turn off 3 houts after they are done charging.

I have purchased many smart plugs over the years and these are absolutely without question the best ones I have ever purchased! It was the easiest plug I have ever installed. The step by step instructions were fantastic and it was recognized instantly on the first attempt. I was already using the Smart Life app for our other smart devices so no other app was required. The smart monitor function is great at keeping you informed just how much it’s costing you to power whatever you have plugged into it. If you want even more detailed reports the app also has a few upgrade options that you can subscribe to if you like. This is totally optional and I have not tried it as I find the free monitoring features are fine for my needs. These plugs can actually put money back into your pocket by knowing how much it’s costing you to have something powered on so you can adjust your use efficiently. The option of using either 5ghz or 2.4ghz is great! (I am using them with the rest of my system that is all 2.4ghz with no issues). It’s nice to know when the time comes and all these smart home devices switch to 5ghz that these will still be working! I had a few questions regarding the plugs. The company was very friendly and eager to help in any way they could. They answered all of my questions, addressed all of my concerns and returned my messages consistently as quickly as they could, given the time shift between myself and them. In short… - These are great plugs that work fantastic with lots of great features at a very reasonable price. - They are easy to setup and use. - They work on both 5ghz and 2.4 ghz. - They can save you money. - The company and their staff is great to deal with. My only regret is I didn’t buy more!

We have the 2.4G version but when our power is out for any length of time they are a pain to setup. These 5Ghz plugs are a breeze. Open the app, plug this into the outlet and it sets up within seconds with no fuss at all. I love the options for turning devices on/off and the power usage monitor is a nice surprise feature. Everything linked to Alexa quickly and instructions were simple. I've ordered more to replace the rest of my 2.4G plugs. **** 2nd package arrived and they setup just as easily as the first ones. Looks like I will be ordering more to replace all of our 2.4G smart plugs!

I really like the Smart Life app which I’ve been using for many years so I wanted a smart plug that works with that app and this one fit the bill. I plugged it in and pushed the button and it popped right up in the app ready to be connected. Super easy and works great with Alexa.

Works on my 5ghz network and setup was very easy. The app is ok, it shows energy usage, you can set a schedule, and it seems to have a number of other useful features. I had raised eyebrows at how many permissions the app asked for during setup so I ended up staying on the trial version without full signing in. So far I've been ignoring the popups to upgrade my software and unlock more features. Haven't yet tried connecting it to google home or Alexa, but I'm overall happy with the product, works out of the box like it should.

Great produce, easy to set up but ... one of mine died after a power outage. All the rest were find only one died :( I will recommend though as they are really good ones easily match to Alexa.
