Andis 68565 Stainless-Steel Slicker Brush, Medium, Green

These are a bit bigger than the Lil' Pals version I have used for years. This is a great slicker, and pills a ton of dead hair off of my Shitzu. The size is okay for a smaller 8-12 lb dog, but would be too large for anything smaller. These would work well on legs of a larger dog, but are too small for body work on a larger dog. The brushes seem durable, comparable to Lil' Pals. I feel the price is good for the quality of the brush.

I had a cat brush for over 20 years and I thought it did the job but this brush was a game changer! What a difference in the amount of hair I combed out of my 2 medium hair cats! I never got that amount of hair with my other shorter tined brush. With these longer tines it will feel harder or less smooth to brush at first (on cats with longer hair) but after initial strokes it is smoother. The best part is cutting down on hairballs!

The slicker brush works well for keeping my Yorkie puppy’s fluffy fur detangled and mat-free. I keep his fur in either a puppy cut or teddy bear cut so it’s not long and it takes me about 5 minutes to brush all of him everyday. He is pretty compliant in general but he enjoys the brushing. The medium is definitely more of a small and is perfect for a small dog like a Yorkie. I tested it on myself before using it on my pup and the bristles don’t scratch the skin or feel uncomfortable at all. I knocked off a star because I don’t know what this “self-cleaning” nonsense in the description is about because there’s no such feature. You manually clean the shed fur or hair out of this brush the same as any other brush. Other than that, highly recommend!

Don’t know how I ever lived without this pet brush. No more pulling dog. Hair out of bristles. Just push a button and hair empties into the trash.

Metal combs are too sharp and my puppy hates it. It doesn’t matter how gentle, he hates it.
