Do you use this with blemish control gel in the evening and if so do you put it on before the gel?

Hi Euan, you should not use the blemish control cleanser or moisturiser alongside the retinol serum as they are too active. The range is designed so that while you have blemishes you should use blemish control cleanser + gel moisturiser, then once blemishes are cleared you stop using those two products. Then to stop / treat any marks you should then start using the retinol serum in the evening after cleansing and before your moisturiser. We hope this helps.

does anyone find this serum has a gritty texture when you first put it on ?

No, i have personally never experienced that and i have used and repurchased this item at least 4 times on amazon alone. My guess is either it’s fake, it’s has spoilt by either air entering the packaging or being opened and used for a while, or somehow the vitamin A (retinol component) has not been fully emulsified (a batch error). Another completely valid theory is you have sensitive skin and notice certain sensations most people do not.

Does make up go well on top of this?

I have not tried that yet because of what I have watched on Youtube from dermatologists, it is better to use it at night before you sleep. Pls. Watch Dr. Kay or a legit dermatologist about retinol use.
