Does the job!
The light holder fits perfectly on any standard light stand. The small hole in the middle accommodates a standard photo umbrella. Don't screw it too tight or it will deform the umbrella metal! You can use any standard light bulb (also energy savers) with it. On the back side it has an on/off switch and the cable has a length of about 8 ft, so you want to buy an extension cord too. Remember: this thing will sit on a light stand that probably has 6-7 ft height, so there is not much cable left in case you don't operate it very close to a power outlet. I bought some 15 ft extension cords at Target for $3-4 each. They don't need to be that thick when you operate it with energy saver bulbs. The cables I bought have 3 outlets which is great because I will go from one lightstand to the other, merge two cables there and THEN go to the power outlet which will reduce my need for cables. You should also get some duct tape to fix the cable stuff to the floor - you don't want people to stumble over that and fall.I additionally bought a "Single Lampholder-to-Twin Lampholder" for it to double the light power. One 120W energy saver bulb (=23W) won't be that extremely bright, especially not when behind an umbrella. The 4-Socket holder also sold on Amazon might not fit on it because it will most likely overlap the hole where you want to place the umbrella. The overall quality is okay. It's mostly plastic, so I wouldn't get too brutal when it comes to tightening the screws.

Ruthlessly cheap
This light bulb fixture serves its intended purpose, but only barely adequately. The light stand mounting hole is misshapen and you have to forcibly jam it into the pole to make it fit. When the set screw is unscrewed enough to allow insertion, it flops around loose after you remove the fixture. Worst of all is the cheap aluminum socket thread insert, which is only two threads deep. If you attempt to screw in a double-socket extender, it can actually bottom out when you tighten it down, and rotate freely within this fixture's socket. It isn't just this particular fixture that is made with such little regard for quality and durability - ALL of the similar brands that Amazon carries are made like this. I'd readily pay twice as much for a product I could rely on rather than poorly engineered knock-offs designed solely to minimize manufacturing cost.

ePhoto ac swivel light holder E27
Bought for rather light LED spot lights. Mounts securely on light pole. Convenient switch on rear of unit. If mounting high it would probably be better to have in line power cord switch. Does not hold heavier CFL bulbs without a little slipping. Perfect for light to medium duty. Would not rely on for daily or professional use... I bought several and am satisfied that they are good for what they promise

Good economic light holder
This does the job adequately.I need a hair light from time to time so this fits the bill.I can see that it may break with a lot of rough use.But if one is casreful it should survive.

Amateur Photographer
I had an old poorly made tripod and turned it into a light stand, this fit it perfectly. I am using a LED Floodlight from Lights of America with this and it really works great. I even use this in my apartment for everyday lighting.

DANGER! "Exploded" when I turned it on!
I just received one of these and used it with a photo light I ordered at the same time. I plugged it in, turned it on, and there was a giant blue flash, a puff of smoke, and I could see that the cord had literally exploded, exposing the internal wires. The socket continued to smoke while I looked for a safe way to unplug the damned thing. Will be placing calls to ePhoto and Amazon.

very nice with light
I bought this to go along with the head LED spot light for lighting overhead in a studio setting. It works great and is much less expensive than other lights.

Cheap poor build
Bought two, one didn't last through unpacking. The other one is still working but I'd never trust it for anything that counts.
