Works Every Time!
I bought this for home film development. I like to pull the leader out first and preload my spools before placing them in the changing bag. If you follow the instructions properly it’ll work every time. Great product!

A total waste
This product is cheap and doesn’t work. Use double sided tape with film leader to retrieve your film effectively.

Works very well. Follow the instructions and you’ll be fine. When they talk about the “click” just know that you can hear it but it’s not really loud, so if you’re in a noisy environment you won’t hear it. You’ll feel it…a little…but it’s not a big click. I got it on my second try and got the film out. I didn’t pull it as hard and fast as the video. I’ll be getting a spare. It’s built well and should last as long as the plastic does, but two is one and one is none, as they say.

Takes a few tries to get it to work, but then works fine.
Does take a little practice to get this thing to work however, when you "learn the trick" it works flawlessly.

The media could not be loaded. I've used several other (older) film retrievers from other companies in the past, but all of them were somewhat hit-and-miss. Not great to be honest, but that's until I've come across this particular one from JJC. This design is brilliant! Worked on my first try. And worked pretty much every single time after that.The product is solidly made and has a nice quality feel to it. I really like how the foils are all retracted for better protection, unlike others which are usually exposed and prone to bending and damage.The instructions were ok. The only thing I think the manufacturer did make it harder to use, is their suggestion for holding down the film spool while deploying the second foil. On multiple goes, I had 100% success rate when I don't touch the spool the entire time. And when I do hold it down, I usually fail to grab it. Your mileage may vary, but do try this tip if you are having problems with it.Overall, this JJC retriever is super easy to use. No issues with it. For the price, this is highly recommended. It's the best film retriever I've ever used. Hands down! Well done guys.
