Neo Cold Sore Treatment Device – Long Lasting and Reusable Heat Pen (Herpotherm neo)

I decided to delay my review until I was fairly sure it's effective. I stopped using any other preventative measures (except 3, see below). It's been nearly 5 months, I've had the tingling stage at least 50 times since then (no joke), and yet i'm completely sore-free. At first I thought this was a concidence, especially after a particularly bad tingling stage once. But so far so good! Cold sores have affected my mental health for a long time now. I'm guessing anyone who's on this page can related. I used to get them every 2 months, not always in the same spot. Especially when my immune system is down or i'm in a lot of stress. They hurt. I'm constantly aware of them. Wearing masks during the pandemic has been a godsend because I could leave the house without feeling so insecure about having them. As such, I've been doing everything in my power to fight them. I have tried every cream and sticker in the book. Not a single sore. Still can't believe it. This is huge for me. ________________________________ 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗜'𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁: - The very moment a feel a slight tingle I use it. ASAP. - If the tingling is in more than one place, or in a large area. I use it more than once (letting it cool in between), and try to cover the tingling area. - If I feel it again, I use the device once more. - I tend to feel the tingling stage during bedtime, when this happens, I wake up and use it. One night, I had to use it 5 times (in like 7 hours). - TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE.... so I keep it next to my bed, in my pocket when i'm out, it's always nearby. ________________________________ 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀: - I currently take L-lysine (1000 mg) daily. I've been doing this for ~2 years, I found that it helps in reducing cold sore frequency, as well as the damage caused by the cold sore (frequency sore area), and it helps healing quicker. - Lip with SPF when I'm out (especially when it's sunny or windy outside) ________________________________ I was reading a few of the reviews on here, and I have a few notes regarding how to use it: - 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀/scarring: If you're pressing it into your skin, you're doing it wrong, and chances are you're going to get burned/damage your skin!!!! The device is supposed to heat the only the EXTERNAL layers of skin to 50 degrees celsius for 3 seconds. This SHOULDNT burn the skin, the area will be a bit red and that pinkness will go away. Scarring occurs when the deeper layer of the skin, the dermis, is damaged. Remember that damaged skin is actually a good environment for cold sores to develop!!!! You shouldn't use it with creams/gels on. Make sure to keep the device clean. Simply hold the device against the skin directly, so that the plate is in full contact with the skin without pressing it into the skin. - 𝗜𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝘁/𝘂𝗻𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁: Yes, it's definitely not too pleasant, but you get used to it at some point after which it's not too bad. If you're wondering what it feels: turn on the hot water tap (if your heater is at 49-50 degrees) with your fingertip under it, and allow it become hot and once it's reached maximum heat wait 2-3 seconds before moving your hand away. You can handle it. Imagine that on a smaller scale (5 mm in diameter) on/near your lip. The temperature does gradually go up making it more bearable. I suggest gripping something and/or watching something to distract yourself. Just give in to the heat, and it'll be over before you know it. Again, DO NOT push it into your skin. I suggest that you barely let it touch your skin the first time (so you know what you're getting into), but make sure to hold it for the 3 seconds. If I can bare it, you can bare it too, i'm sure of it. Rest assured that while it feels really hot, it's not damaging your skin. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴/𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: it needs to be used AS SOON AS POSSIBLE for it to prevent the sore. Familiarise yourself with the tingling stage (prickly sensation, burns, itchiness, feeling of tightness, pain). If you're not sure whether that was actual tingling or a hair was tickling your lip, use it anyway. When in doubt, use it. it also needs to be used whenever you feel tingling. If you felt a tingle 40 minutes ago and used it, but then felt the tingle again, go ahead and use it again. You need to apply it at the site of the tingling. If you missed, allow the device to cool, and then apply it again. If it's in more than one area, use it on each area, allowing the device to cool between uses. Don't touch the skin after you apply it, let the skin cool down on it's own. 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲: The battery that came with the device didn't last long (literally 2 weeks after I purchased it). Since then, I've changed the battery once, and it's still working well. Make sure that the you get a good battery and that the battery is placed the right direction. (I do hope that some day, they'd design a rechargable pen.) 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡: Works perfectly at completely preventing cold sores if used at the right time and in the correct manner.

I don’t often write reviews, but this little gadget has impressed me so much that I feel compelled to write one! I’ve suffered from cold sores for 30+ years and have tried so many treatments - with limited results. This device is a game changer! I use it as soon as I feel the dreaded tingle, and often it is enough to stop the cold sore in it’s tracks or if I’m a little late I have a tiny lesion which is gone in a few days. Recently (after a walk in the sunshine - schoolboy error!) I woke up with a cold sore. By using the device religiously, I was able to stop the cold sore from getting bigger, and it is already healing, without going through the usual unpleasant stages and associated pain. I was worried about spending money on yet another treatment that would disappoint, but I am so pleased I’ve got this!

Suffered with cold sores for the past 10 years and I am very impressed by this device. At the beginning of the day the cold sore was very red, weeping and swollen. Over the day I had been using herpotherm. The device gets very hot but it is bearable. The tip of the pen stays hot for 3 seconds. I used it about 5 times today. If your cold sore is large you may have to move the pen and press the heat button again to make sure you are treating the whole cold sore. Over one day I feel that the swelling has reduced by half. There is no more weeping and it has started to scab over. The best thing about it is being able to have a dry lip back that is not oozing or bleeding.

I have suffered with coldsores for as long as I remember, and I have tried everything on the market to help with the pain and the sheer ugliness of a cold sore, I take lysine daily, and use topical lysine on my lips too. They always come on in the night meaning no tingle stage, I usually wake up with a small lump which in an hour or so develops into a blister. I also never get one, I usually get 2 or 3 separate blisters in an area on my face. My usual treatment is patches to cover them, 99% alcohol on a earbud to dry it out, I also like to burst the blisters as soon as possible to help heal them quicker. Anyway I discovered this and thought I would try it. Now as they come on at night, I have no chance of catching them before they develop. So I use this on the blisters directly, disinfecting the end between uses with barbers santiser. Easy to use- yes so easy, painful to use - yes on a blister but you do get use to it. The big question is does it work - well honestly I don't know. I have had 3 sessions of cold sores in 4 weeks and each time the blister stage lasts the usual few days, then it bursts and scabs over, cracks and bleeds them eventually they heal but no sooner than before. It does however really help with the pain at the start of the outbreak for a short time anyway I will continue to use it to see and will update this review however aside from the pain relief I will throw this in the draw with all the other devices I bought to help

This definitely works. It's better than anything else I've tried. Overall it massively reduces or (in most cases) eliminates the painful and unsightly brown crusty and weeping stages. Instead there is just a bit of redness, maybe a small blister to start and this dries up quickly. Reduces the time from blister to completely healed by at least half (from 10 days to about 4-5 days or much less). I use it very often (about every hour or 2 initially, even if there is already a blister) and then use it less often once it looks to have gone down, continuing until it is gone. I use Zovirax cream as well alongside the zapper a few times a day when I remember, and at night, but not religiously. This combo works for me. I've had the zapper for 7 months and use it frequently. I haven't needed to replace the battery yet. Pros Actually works, speeds healing and does stop a cold sore from breaking out if used at tingle stage. - Easy to use; no mess or need to wash hands after, can do multiple times a day easily - Discreet - Does bleep, but quiet enough to use at work Cons - It takes a while to get used to the burn! It does hurt initially, I won't lie, but after 4 or 5 goes, I found it easy to tolerate the 3 seconds of burning sensation. Stick with it, it's only 3 seconds! Only press it lightly to your skin. - It is a bit tricky to accurately place on the tingle or sore as the hot plate is obscured by the plastic end it sits in (rather than being more tapered at the end), so you can't see the spot exactly where you are targeting. But not a big problem. - Once I "zapped" a tingle on one side of my lip and the next day a big cold sore came out on the other side 🤔 Also I seem to successfully treat a cold sore only for one to come out a few days later in another area. So it's not 100% guaranteed every time.

This actually works. It reduced the episode from first symptoms to complete healing from 9-14 days to 4-5 days. It’s incredible and blisters haven’t developed to cause any pain or aesthetic discomfort. Just very small scars that healed very quick. You do have to be on it from first signs though and apply it maybe 40-50 times a day, but that requires minimum of effort. If blisters form a bit above the lip, you need to be on it even more due to the thickness of the skin, but it still stopped blisters from forming. When the skin becomes very sensitive due to the episode trying to manifest, you will feel a sharp pain from the heat, but you have to bare it like a champ. It’s worth the struggle to achieve the result. Maybe in time, if the virus cannot manifest and multiply like it used to, it’ll eventually be destroyed from the nervous system too, maybe. Very good product. If this also had concentrated UV light complementary with the heat, the results would be even more fascinating. Or maybe you can use another device with UV together with this. Couple these with a lemon based cream and the episode would probably last for 2 days only with minimum of impact on daily life. Amazing. Highly recommended. I hope the device will last for a long time. This I only a review for efficiency, not technical, as I only had it for a month and used it for three days. But all good so far.

I read some academic research that concluded that thermal treatment of cold sores in the early phase can mitigate them in a matter of days. The next time I got one I put a hot mug of tea against it for as long as I could bear and it disappeared after a couple of days, rather than developing into a horrible sore. I was fascinated, and ultimately ended up on Amazon buying this product. After a few months of ownership (bought September 2022) I can say that this product does almost exactly the same thing as pressing your lip against a hot mug of tea. I guess the pros and cons of this product are: Pros: It can mitigate cold sores. You can take it with you and use it as soon as you feel the tingle. You don't need to boil the kettle to make a hot thing to press your lip against It is targeted to about a 5mm diameter hot spot Cons: The battery doesn't last many cycles Batteries are hard to come by if Amazon won't ship them to your location It beeps loudly when in use The cost of ownership vs. having a cup of tea

I have suffered from cold sores since a child. Recently the attacks seemed to be becoming more frequent. I have tried many remedies over the years which have not really worked and would it would take 10 days or sometimes more for the scabs following on from blisters clearing. The Herpotherm has really made a difference. It's not a miracle but using it has meant that the attacks have become less severe with the swelling and discomfort much reduced. It has also more or less halved the time of the recovery period. It certainly is worth trying. It really has made a big difference for me.

Effective from the very first application. It stops growth immediately—but you need to catch it in the early stages. The process only takes about three seconds. You’ll feel a quick burning sensation, but it’s brief and not bothersome. For me, this has been a long-lasting investment. I no longer have to worry about buying patches or creams—it really simplifies things.

Da poco ho iniziato a soffrire di erpes labiale, la prima volta in farmacia mi hanno dato il solito aciclovir che ho applicato per ben oltre 2 settimane, più volte al giorno senza grande risultato, probabilmente sarebbe sparito da solo nello stesso periodo. Ho cercato una soluzione a questo problema e ho trovato questo fantastico dispositivo! Ero scettica ma ho voluto tentare e... funziona!!! Il dispositivo è poco più grande di un rossetto, si toglie il cappuccio protettivo e si appoggia sulla zona interessata, si preme il pulsante, dopo poco si accende la luce verde e si sente il calore che inattiva il virus, la luce verde si spegne, dura pochi secondi, e il gioco è fatto! Applicato ai primi sintomi i classici "pizzicori/formicolii" una volta o due non ho più avuto episodi, nessuna vescicola. Meglio delle medicine che sono risultate inefficaci. Funziona con due pile AAA, per la durata delle batterie finora l'ho usato 5 volte e funziona ancora. Non fa comparire l'erpes e si ammortizza con i soldi che risparmi sugli inutili farmaci. Lo consiglio vivamente a chi soffre di questo piccolo ma fastidioso disturbo alle labbra .

Meilleur produit au monde pour les herpès labial. J’avais le premier modèle mais celui ci fonctionnait tout de même très mal, j’étais obligé de le diviser à chaque fois pour qu’il chauffe normalement. Celui ci fonctionne parfaitement bien , de plus il possède des piles plus facile à trouver. Après des années à avoir essayé beaucoup de choses notamment des méthodes de grand-mère qui ont fait que d’amplifier le problème ! L’herpoderm est la seule solution, pris des le début est vraiment le top mais je l’utilise quand le bouton est là et virulent, ça le dessèche et permet une cicatrisation beaucoup plus rapide . La douleur est vraiment supportable. Ne pas hésiter à l’utiliser plusieurs fois de suite et très régulièrement au début .
