First time purchase for a Maltese with matting hair. Purchased the shampoo conditioner also for the total product experience. The shampoo/conditioner does not bubble up and expand so I ended up using more product that usual but pet was clean with no residue after bath and had no itching the whole week. Detangeler/conditioner works awesome. Put on while wet immediately after bath and then blow dried. Hair was somewhat stiff the first day but once combed returned to her original softness. One week later and matted hair is significantly easier to comb out. Did not use the scissors once in her whole body. Definitely will buy again. But... packing on detangler/conditioner is terrible! Squeeze action trigger did not work had to pour into my hand and then apply. It had leaked into the package and I was only able to retrieve about half of the bottle from the shipping bag. Definitely needs a new spray bottle design!

have tried several detanglers that I had to discard because the perfume was too much for my dog and me. This does the job and us neutral… most important my dog likes it. Still hard to detangle her ears (the only part of her at issue) but the best I have come across yet. thanks Skout’s!

Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it arrived leaking heavily. I could feel that the lid wasn't screwed on and that it was floating in a pool of goo before I even opened the package. It's missing about a quarter of the total volume because of how badly it spilled. I think the bottle itself is ok, it was just lying open in the envelope. I'm not sure where it ships from or who all handles it from the time it leaves the production line til it arrives at my door, but at some point not a lot of care was taken to make sure it gets to the customer in one piece (literally). I am however happy with how it smells, which is a very light clay-like smell, perfect for my dog. It was really hard to find a detangling spray without perfume, so I'm glad that this one is as advertised in that regard. I can't understand why people would want to cover their poor dog in heavy fragrance, they have very sensitive noses and they have to smell that overwhelming smell on themselves for days on end. Really unfair to the dog. So this product is great in that sense. I will update my review once I've had a chance to try it out! Hoping it works wonders on my poor itchy border collie.Update: Despite my initial poor first impression of the leaky package, the product itself has been working great. I've used it twice so far (both times after bathing or rinsing my puppy after going to the beach) and it makes him feel so soft. After towel drying him, I spray it where he is still pretty wet and use a rubber brush (like a zoom groom) to pull it through his damp fur. I massage him with my hands as well to spread it through and try to get it deep into his coat instead of just the surface. He doesn't love the spraying part but loves being massaged. As he dries his coat really fluffs out and he feels so soft. I have been using a few different products on him to try to relieve his itchy skin so I am not sure if this product alone would be as effective, but he has definitely stopped itching himself as much as he used to. Overall I really like this product, so I'll add a few stars, but leave one off because of the initial packaging. Overall I do recommend the product, just advise the shipping/handling dept to take better care in getting it to the customer.

I use this product daily to eliminate tangles on The Contessa (toy poodle). Prior to using this, I dealt with matted areas particularly under her legs and on her long silky ears. There was much pulling and sometimes the cutting out of matted hair. Here's a hint: I put the lotion in a small condiment container and squeeze a small amount on a baby wipe and wipe Tessa down daily. This process is most economic, simple, fast,and totally controls matting on the little angel. I am very pleased with this product.

I love everything about this. Actually fragrance free! This is a favorite product of mine. Being a groomer I find it hard to find good products that are truly fragrance free. (It can be diluted, straight from the bottle can be to thick for some coats.)

This stuff is amazing! Just spray and gently comb through to distribute and in seconds the hair is tangle free! The extra benefit is the coat stays soft and workable even the next day. Absolutely love this product!

Only 3 stars because I bought it so hopefully as a true detangler to help me comb the billions of daily sticky burrs out of my golden retriever every night, as well as repel new ones on my ranch, but alas—it has little effect. My last hope. I’ve tried our horse stuff—cowboy magic & show sheen, which works great on manes, but not on my golden.Both of us detest the smell of those horse conditioners, but was so relieved that scouts honor had an unscented detangler, natural ingredients, which is why it is still a good product—for someone else’s dog, I’m sure. Maybe as a conditioner. But did nothing for my girl to make her hair more slick & manageable with the burrs.So we will continue the daily hour long brush out. Attached before and after brush out photos. Without much help from this product. Oh well…maybe it will work for your dog.

The media could not be loaded.  Sprayed nice first time I used it. Just went to use it the 2nd time and now it doesn’t spray. Just comes out in plops.
