Excellently made and easy to use.
Excellent tool, makes setting up and sharpening t the required angle breeze. Well made from anodized aluminium with a robust roller which is nice and wide to prevent the unit from rocking unlike some of the other types of guides which have a small roller which can make maintaining the correct angles difficult as its easy to grind the tool not perpendicular. The tool can be removed mid way through sharpening and then refitted back into the jig and continue with the sharpening process without any issues, indicating the jig is precisely made with.

Easy to use and well made
Great bit of kit. I've only used it once so far but it was very easy to get the correct angle and set the guide up. All the items in the kit are metal and seem very robust. As there are 3 pieces, it would have been even better if it came with a pouch or box to keep it in as you can tell it will last a long time and I lose things a lot easier now I'm getting older! Chisels are nice and sharp again.

Great chisel sharpening guide
This is a great tool to sharpen your chisels. There are enough guides to do the basic sharpening (say) 20degs then put an edge on at 25degs. Well made bit of kit

Decent bit of kit
This seems pretty good quality. The guide itself seems robust and the repeatable setting guide is also a nice to have. Much smaller than my old block of plywood with stops glued on to it! I've knocked a star off as the angle checking gauge wasn't the best. Mine had burrs / excess anodising in the notches which made it pretty useless. However, I wasn't really planning on using it anyway so maybe that's unfair!

Easy to use and well made
Really pleased with this so far. Offers a range of angles for sharpening different blades and tools and is very easy to use. The parts feel very sturdy and well manufactured and the marking gauge and guides are well printed and easy to follow. The roller has a smooth action which makes it easy to perform consistent, repeated passes with your blades and has some nice heft to it, so it's easy to keep it on course. Price is sweet, so couldn't ask for much more really!

Quality shows!
First impression was of a rig that was reassuringly weighty, and easily passed any visual inspection, being extremely well manufactured and assembled. The sharpening rig itself was bigger than expected, and of a size that made handling and setting up pretty easy. My early scepticism soon vanished when in the space of just 15 minutes I was able to sharpen my apprentice joiner grandson's chisel set to razor like perfection. The finished chisels were perfectly square and extremely sharp. Unfortunately the rig does not include any sharpening stones but I was able to buy a set of 3 in 120, 800 and 2000 grit for under 10 pounds and have them delivered in the same parcel by Amazon UK. Easily the very best sharpening rig on the market at the moment!

Great results every time.
Not having had the results I wanted with another brand with a smaller roller, I opted for this set as the price was reasonable, and the fact that it came with an angle finder made it easy to set primary and secondary bevels. Made of aluminium, it feels a quality product, well designed and small enough to fit in your pocket, if you need to carry it around. Combined with a couple of diamond stones, I've managed to restore a scary sharp edge on all my chisels ... plane blades are next on the list.

Good product, Bits missing
The angle guide works absolutely fine but the angle tester was not in the box. The only option available was to get a full refund and to buy it again. Re purchasing the item came with a price increase of £6. This was two days after the original purchase. I have decided to keep the incomplete kit as the sharpening guide does work well and is of solid construction. I have used it to good effect already. It is easy to use and easy to set up. Apart from the fact that the right bits were not in the box I would recommend this product. The low stars review is more down to Amazon and the sellers lack of ability to be contacted other than via a chat bot.

Klasse Teil. Mega!

I bought this because I was having a heck of a time getting an new inexpensive block plane properly sharpened by hand.. The kid is easy to set up and quite accurate.. I don't think I ever would've been able to sharpen this properly by hand because having the guide showed me just how badly the blade was manufactured from the factory. I never would've spent the time required to sharpen the blade, as I never would've suspected it was as bad as it was. (out of the bike. I don't think this plane would've cut hard cheese, let alone any kind of wood.). A fair bit of sharpening later, with the guide to show me that I was going in absolutely the right direction. The cheap plane is now quite decent and able to take nice curls off of hardwood with little effort. Definitely good value for the money here. I did also want to respond to another review I saw which almost made me not buy this product. One reviewer was complaining about the "chrone" coming off the roller fairly quickly. THERE iS NO CHROME! The roller is a nice heavy piece of polished stainless steel with nice smooth bearings. But due to the nature of how this product is intended to be used that polished stainless roller is going to be rolling over the sharpening stone or diamond plate that's used to sharpen the blade . Naturally, running the roller over a coarse surface intended to a abrade metal, is going to dull that factory polished surface. It has zero effect on functionality, and it's just a consequence of the way the sharpening guide is supposed to work.. Overall entirely satisfied with this purchase, and glad to have it as part of my sharpening kit.
