I love this thing. This is the second one I have purchased and I find it quite frankly better than a luxurious pedicure salon I frequent several different salons varying in price and this little device for exceeds every result that I get from a high-end $100+ salon or a low end $20 base salon. It has two speeds. I always have to use the high speed. I am very prone to getting calluses on the outer side of my feet, up right underneath my big toe and my heels are notoriously horrendous. You can use this wet or dry. My preference is to use it dry on really stubborn calluses and really take your time using it. Place it over the stubborn callous and literally let it sit and do its job. I just hold it over it and let it go to town and after a minute or two that callus is completely gone, and there is a pile of gross skin underneath it, and I can move onto the next spot. It absolutely amazes me at how much dead skin comes off from this little contraption doing its job. After about three months, I changed the roller and it worked fantastic even better than say the last three or four times that I had used it obviously it’s wiser to remove the roller as often as needed it, especially if you have a large amount of calluses like myself, but I’m frugal. I like to make sure I use everything to the extent of getting what I purchased and it still worked wonderfully. You can use this wet as I mentioned above, but I find it doesn’t yield the same results.

So, I am skeptical of new products that claim magical results for little or no money, but as someone who enjoys being barefoot as much as possible, I am also keenly aware that my tootsies end up looking and feeling as though they were on the losing end of a fight with a croncrete chipper, and thus, I ahve to put in some time and effort to make sure I don't look like I'm stuffing two bags of sanding paper into my shoes every day. I have used other foot smoothing products; baby feet comes to mind - that product also works great, but it is time consuming and takes a week and a half to start working. (Who has time for that? I'm trying not to lacerate my bed mate this evening, next week is too little, too late!) I bought this with minimal expectations, hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Package arrived today. I pulled it out of the clamshell packaging (that's the only downside to this item - the packaging is a beast to get in to - why does anyone still use Ft Knox level clamshell packaging, anyway? Why must it be packed in such a way that it requires the upper body strength of a Grizzly bear just to open a plastic wrapper? IT's a foot smoother, not the treasure of the sierra madre...) I digress; once I got the darned thing open, it basically comes ready to use, just remove the battery case cover at the bottom of the unit to create contact so the batteries can power it, and away you go. Best analogy I can offer is what I said in the Headline; it's like a pumice stone on steriods. I have really sensitive skin, so I braced, concerned I might press too hard & shear off a toe...nothign to be worried about. I put a fair amount of pressure on the calloused areas of my soles & heels & it didn't bother me at all. It powered through some pretty gnarly callouses that I didn't even realize were as bad as they were. The only gross aspect of it is the thin, fine veneer of dead skin you're going to create in the one foot (ha) vacinity you're sitting in as you use this. Try not to think about the fact that you're being covered in a layer of your own skin dust, but otherwise, you're buffed, smooth, & calluses begone. Use it dry, DO NOT USE IT WET. It's not waterproof & it won't work as well, not to mention you could hurt yourself. I did both soles, dry, in about 2 minutes & the difference is remarkable. I'm sold. The batteries it comes with are cheapy, no name, and I suspect I'll buzz through them in another use or two; no biggie. It takes 4AA batteries, easy enough to replace & I'll wait to see how it does with somethign that has more power like energizer or Duracell before I decide if it's a battery eater or not. Good product, decently made for the price, easy to use, works right oout of the box & delivers on what it promises. What more could you ask for? (Except, maybe clamshell packaging that doesn't give me a stroke while I try to open it...)

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this, and I was concerned about the number of complaints that the unit stopped working when pressing against a callous. After using it, I found that the only reason it would stop spinning was because I pressed too hard. Pressing harder against the callous isn't going to get rid of it faster. A callous is multiple layers of dead skin: it's going to take work and a little patience to get rid of it. Before my first use, I had thick callouses on my heels and on the sides of my big toes. This unit worked wonderfully to remove them. I spent about 15 minutes on each foot: considering this was my first use, that's not too bad. It's important to clean the roller after using it- otherwise, it is not as effective. The removed "flakey skin powder" builds up and sticks to the roller, which is like coarse sandpaper. You'll notice the difference in how it works when it's clean versus when its not. Major difference. When you open the package, just peel apart the plastic from the top and sides, it unsnaps pretty easily. Be sure to remove the clear plastic cap that goes over the roller head. It's easy to overlook and accidentally throw away. Take care not to tear the cardboard insert - that's your instruction manual. You may need a magnifying glass to read it though, the font is probably about a size 2 - no kidding! Read it though, or at least skim through it. Cleaning instructions are simple- the unit is NOT WATERPROOF. Remove the roller by pressing on the blue button with the arrow, pull the roller out and rinse it under warm running water. Dry with a cloth towel before replacing re-using it. Simply wipe the rest of the unit with a damp cloth. One thing to be aware of is the fine dust created when using this tool. I sat outside on my deck to do it, and I recommend using it outdoors if it's possible, otherwise, you wind up with a coating of powdery white dust / dead skin flakes all over the place. The handle is comfortable and easy to grip. My hands are on the smaller side, and I found it quite comfortable to work with. The rolling head spins pretty fast, and it's a very course surface, making it highly effective when used properly. As long as you make contact with the callus, it's working to remove it. Pressing harder against it does nothing to increase the effectiveness, in fact it slows down the roller and, as mentioned before, will cause it to stop spinning altogether. When using, it's best not to keep the roller on one spot for more than a few seconds: keep moving it around so you don't wind up burning (heat from friction) and damaging the soft skin under the calluses. You may not feel it burning while it's happening, but it will feel sore later on. Rub your feet with some good quality foot lotion afterwards. You're going to love your feet!

I picked up the Amopé Pedi Perfect to deal with dry, rough skin on my heels, and it works surprisingly well for at-home use. Great for smoothing skin

I received the Amope Pedi Perfect Electronic Foot File today. I waited until I had some time before bed to try it out. I am one of those “fortunate” ones whose spouse makes enough to support our household, so I am able to be a domestic engineer, taking care of all and everyone’s needs at home. Therefore, I spend a lot of time barefoot. This does not bode well for the toesies nor the heels. I’ve tried pedicures but did have to stop that monthly cost pretty quick… I’ve tried the pumice stone. OUCH when you’re not careful and end up pumicing your ankle bone… I’ve tried the “cheese grater” looking gadget. Again, that poor ankle bone… and when you have very dry heels, it’s pretty intense to get that dry, unsightly skin off the heels. The only way to accomplish such a feat is to soak your feet for a while in some almost too hot water but who the heck has time for THAT?! So, YES, THIS WORKS!! IT REALLY WORKS. As the not-so-proud owner of dry, unsightly skin on her heels… I was impressed. Oh, I researched other products but they seemed quite the project to get through (such as applying a solution, wrapping in plastic, hanging around for about an hour for solution to work and then skin is falls off your feet for DAYS after applying solution – seemed way too much and way too messy. Imaging walking around with skin trailing after you. No, thank you.) And then I saw a TV commercial for this product. Hmm. Really?? Let’s take a look-see on this one. I read about, watched the video(s) about it. Read a few reviews about it, too. It was a bit on the pricey side for my tastes in “files”, but it seemed like it was worth it. I took the plunged. Ordered it… got it… used it… and my feetsies are happy campers! The package itself was not difficult to open. It came with the batteries. All I had to do was removing some casing by the batteries, slide to the right to the ON position, and there it whirred. I started at the big toesies, where a blister had callused over and within a couple of minutes it was gone. You know how when you rub your feet and you just feel that dry skin mocking you? I did that after I used the electric file and I did not feel mocked. At all. So, anyone and everyone out there who simply do not care for dry skin on their feet, your answer is in this product. A few minutes of buffing out those dry areas will do wonders for your feetsies. (By the way, I also ordered the moisturizing cream. It felt nice after buffing but I won’t say anything more until I have a few more days to use the Daily Moisturizer.)

I’ve used the Amopé Pedi Perfect Electric Callus Remover for a few weeks as part of my regular at-home foot care routine. It does work, but I’d describe the results as moderate rather than dramatic. I have always had issues with dry feet. In particular, the soles of my feet become extremely thickened, and incomfortable. Further, the rounded section of the bottom of the foot attached to the big toe has frequent callous build-up, which causes discomfort, and it quite unsightly. I have tried the pumice stones, to no avail, the devices which hold a razor - and basically succeeded in slicing pieces off of my foot, that method is just too dangerous , and likely to cause unpleasant infections. Therefore, I was thrilled to learn of this battery-powered foot filer. What a relief. I ordered it, still a bit wary because of my experiences with the other aforementioned methods. I ordered the device, along with two extra filing rollers, which are the potion of this device that rotates, causing the dried skin and callouses to be safely removed from your feet. When the device arrived, it was packed in the very, very difficult to open thick plastic protective covers. However, once I managed to open it, I was thrilled with my new discovery. This product arrives, with the batterie so, and in very tip-top condition, waiting to get at that horrible dry foot skin and the callouses. It worked beautifully, the first time that I used it. It is extremely well- formed in order to allow for a novice, snug grip in the hand. The rotating roller file works beautifully, basically sanding the roughened, thick, and unsightly portions of skin form your foot. Further, instead of unsightly cut lines, and the uneven appearance encountered with use of the razor , the foot is left smooth and lovely, with no more unsightly and unequal lines of peeled skin, and is further buffed to a very smooth, and professional salon level of appearance. This device is stunningly easy to use, causes no pain or dangerous cuts,,,,,, basically it does what it is supposed to do . That in itself is a wonderful feeling. Things do not always necessarily function as they should in this day and age. But this Foot file performs as advertised.....and then some. I no longer have the constant and nagging fear of cutting my feet, the ugly and unsightly flakes of dead skin left on my feet after being razored, and best of all.....my feet have that look of a pedicure received from an expensive salon. So, I am able to heartily recommend this device. I had never heard of the name of the manufacturer. I do hope that this is a quality operation , and that they perform well. I will save those issues for updates.. But I am hoping for the best. The device is built with quality,many performs well,most, for now- all is wonderful and joy reigns supreme in Chez Hasselaar.

I have purchased 3 of these so far, one for myself and others for family members. I had used others but they don't have the speed this one has or they don't have the wide grinder. My brother suffers from diabetes and had confined in me that his feed had gotten so bad he can hardly walk without paid. With the first hour of him getting this he called me and said OMG My feet are so soft. They have not been this soft since I was a baby lol. He stated he really thought this was going to be a long process and never could imagine the results he got and so fast. He is now so thankful that he told me and wished he would of gotten this machine years ago as he was so embarrassed of him feet he never took his socks off. You can buy cheaper ones and I have but this one gets the job done and you get what you pay for. Everyone I have purchased this for still uses it and has thanked me for getting it. the grinding stones are easy to replace and easy to find on Amazon as well for a lot less then in the stores.
