WOW
This was my first time using henna, and I have to say, it's messy and a little difficult to work with, BUT the results are phenomenal. I have medium to dark brown hair and I have always loved red hair. Since I wasn't blessed with it, mine comes in a box. I have short hair, but I decided to use the whole thing with one use. Because it is so thick and messy, I didn't want to miss any spots. I just used the henna last night. The box says it takes 2-3 days for the color to fully develop. As of today, I LOVE IT. It's a deep beautiful, bright red. I can't wait for the next couple of days to see how it develops.Like others mentioned, I did not have any issues with bleeding on my clothes or pillow. After I died it and rinsed it out, my towel was a mess, but once I dried my hair, no issues. Even when I washed my face in the morning, there was no stain on the towel from my wet hairline. I did follow the directions to where I only added warm tap water and a few drops of essential oil. I only had peppermint oil and it worked great. Luckily today, I do not smell like a pack of gum. I did not add any acid, like lemon juice, even though I know henna requires that sometimes. Maybe I'll try the acid next time and update this. After using henna, like the box says, do not wash for 24-48 hrs. I will go with 48 hrs. My hair is dry now anyway. But, I will rinse with a solution of apple cider vinegar and water. It will bring out the shine and help preserve the color. Will definitely buy again.UPDATE - Nov 2nd, 2011I am still using this product and I am still as in love with it as the first time I used it. My hair now is no longer brown at all, even when the color "fades." I am a redhead and I love it.I use the Henna every three to four months. It still is a bright, bright red shade when I apply it. I get compliments on my hair color all the time. Have continued and will continue to buy this. I have yet to find a better product (not that I am looking to replace it).Update 12/23/12:I usually keep this on for about 1 hour as per instructions. Last time I kept it on for 2 hours. My hair turned a deep, deep, rich beautiful wine red color. So no need to purchase the deep red version of this.Still in love with this brand and will continue purchasing it.

Color doesn’t stay as vibrant
Whenever this company was still new my friend worked for them and their products were amazing and the colors stayed in my hair for a while. Sadly it’s not as vibrant and doesn’t stick nearly as well as it used to.

Didn't work AT ALL.
I was really excited to finally get bright red hair without having to bleach my head and constantly redye it from all of the fading. So I thought I'd give hair henna a try. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT EVER. I have shoulder length hair but still used the entire packet of henna and covered my hair thoroughly. The instructions said to leave it in for 1 hour...but I left mine in for an hour and a half just to be safe. After I waited and rinsed my hair, I discovered that it wasn't bright red AT ALL. It was a dark burgundy/brownish color with barely any red tint. This was such a waste of my time and money. My hair looks absolutely NOTHING like the example picture. Don't buy this product, it doesn't live up to its expectations. You're better off using normal hair dye or finding a different brand of henna since this one is a total rip off.

Initial excitement turns to disappointed.
Note: This is my original review written about 2 days after I henna'ed. Scroll down for an updated review.Do you long for red hair that doesn't fade after a week? Do chemical dyes leave your hair crispy and sad? I have tried chemical dyes a total of twice in my lifetime: the first was pink that turned brassy on me within a week and the second was blonde that not only didn't work, but made my head itch. My dermatologist told me that chemical dyes were not good for someone like me who has very very sensitive skin. So when I decided to go red, henna it was.I tried this henna because regular BAQ (body art quality) henna would turn Cheeto orange on my naturally dark blonde/ light brown hair. I strand tested first (very, very important) and then went ahead with it. WOW WOW WOW. Nothing about my strand test could have prepared me for my beautiful new hair color. It is true to the color charts and just gorgeous. The henna went lighter over my highlights and the color is bright, multi-dimensional and sparkly. The process itself wasn't that hard; I wore a plastic cape to protect my shirt and my mom helped me put it into my hair. Don't worry about the people who say that henna is a pain to rinse out of your hair, it only takes about ten minutes and the shower drain is not the slightest bit clogged. :) My only complaint is that today, about a day after I henna'ed my hair bled orange on the back of my shirt when I exercised. Not cool. But other than that I'm very happy!*This is my updated review*So I've had my henna in for about a week and the bleeding continued. The color faded a little bit and I wasn't too concerned. I did some research and found a couple internet forums full of people who had used this product. Many people experienced the bleeding and said it stopped pretty quick on its own or could be stopped with a good shampoo'ing, either way without affecting the color. So for a few days I used nothing but water on my hair, wanting to make sure the color wasn't affected, all the while hoping the bleeding would end soon. It didn't, so a few hours ago I decided to shampoo it. The good news: the bleeding is officially stopped. The bad news: so is my beautiful color. After my shampoo with a Color Treated shampoo (for one cannot be too careful) my hair has gone from a lovely near ruby red to a dull orangey brown. I was so disappointed that after my hair dried, I wanted to cry. It really looks like a faded out chemical dye job, which was exactly what I was trying to avoid. Really, I couldn't be more upset. I'm going to try a reapplication in hopes of getting my pretty color back but I don't have a lot of hope for getting it to stick. :( I'll do another update soon.
