These are fantastic! They are nicely stiff and solid. I had to try them, so I carved a melon O,lantern.

This 8-Piece Pumpkin Carving Tool Set is great for what it is. This is not something I find in many stores, nowadays. Usually places are trying to sell you a set of the little blades that are used with the stencil kits that some folks use when carving pumpkins. Those little knives don't last a long time and are meant for more intricate carving. Also, sometimes I encounter the safety-knife pumpkin carvers at hobby shops, supermarkets, and other similar places around Halloween. A set of pumpkin carvers such as this, with sturdy, sharp carvers is something I don’t often encounter for sale at stores around Halloween.When I carve pumpkins to create Jack-O-Lanterns for Halloween, I am very much into traditional Jack-O-Lanterns, not the intricate stencil carving stuff. This set here, looks fine for traditional type of jack-O-Lanterns and also for more intricately detailed Jack-O-Lanterns. The zippered storage case feels proper and does well at holding all the carving utensils in one place.Also included with these carving utensils are 4 sheets of stickers, and 4 LED lights. The LED lights are of an acceptable brightness for within a jack-o-lantern, however the lights don’t feature any sort of, “Flicker-flame” effect, it’s just a static Orange color LED light.The tools in this set are made of thick Stainless Steel. These tools don’t feel as though they’ll easily going to bend when I use them. The handles have a non-slip grip to help make them less likely to slip out of your hand. This can be useful when carving a pumpkin! The scoop and carving utensils included in this set feel solid, sharp, and the serrations look good.I carve Jack-O-Lanterns every year. I've been doing this for a very long time. It does seem to be lost on many people nowadays, though. A lot of folks just don't bother, and it's not all that often anymore I see actual carved pumpkin Jack-O-Lanterns. If you're new carving Jack-O-Lanterns, or just want to expand the number of tools you have on-hand for carving a Jack-O-Lantern, this 8-Piece Pumpkin Carving Set is something to consider!

I tested two of the tools on a watermelon using a quick 5 minute template. The quality is slightly better than cheap little orange ones that come with template booklets. I love the cute long handles, they are more comfortable to hold. The zipper case and battery lights included were a bonus.The selection is decent for designs without much details or cutting straight through the larger part of designs. I wish the most commonly available medium straight saw was ommitted and replaced with a smaller carving loop. Beware many current designs require detailed removal of the surface without cutting all the way through and anything requiring this technique can not be accomplished with this kit alone. I can't give 5 stars because it's not a stand alone kit that could work with most designs. There is a thumb sized V shaped tool similar to a calk removal tool placed next to an exacto ( not included ) for size comparison. It is for cutting a v straight through, using it horizontally results in uncontrolled removal of chunks. I will still need to purchase additional tools to get cleaner results. For the cost it is a good value to start out with or for simple designs.

This kit has everything that you need to carve up your pumpkins, and now is getting to be the time to do so! I highly recommend it for everyone getting ready for Halloween this year!

This is such a durable pumpkin carving set. I will advise to be very careful as some of these tools/knives are very sharp. Some of them have small sheaths over the end for protection, but they do not stay on very well as they are small. The tools appear made well, and seem durable to be able to last for years. Would recommend for a long term pumpkin carving solution.

Pumpkin carving is always a pain with the cheap tools I had before ordering these. I have not used these new ones yet, but I can tell that they are WAY better than the plastic ones I have and will probably last me the rest of my life. Highly reccomend!

What a great kit! Wish I would’ve bought sooner!

The case is solid canvas and the tools are really nice. The added lights and stickers are nice. We'll try it out on Thanksgiving weekend and see how it works. So far, really happy
