Great, but out of production
This was great to use for the developmentally disabled girls that I work with. Even the “templates” without the beads we used paint pens to color them in. The raised borders made it easy for them to stay in the lines. Unfortunately, they are no longer making this product. I called the company and they gave me the idea of using puffy paint to use on picture outlines to get the same effect. So nice of them!!

Doesn’t work, not as pictured on box
I don’t know if what we received is original or not, since the box had already been opened and foam seemed already used. But it does not work and is not as pictured on the box. The box shows that the black lines are raised and appear to be hard so that the foam can be pressed within. The actual items have very shallow felt lining and the foam is really big. The foam also does not stick well to the paper and prefers your fingers. It just does not work and is very frustrating.

Use water!
Like other reviewers stated, the product is sticky and will stick to your fingers (especially children who maybe don’t press hard enough). I gave my daughter a cup of water and told her to dip her fingers in it before she stuck a piece to the board. It works perfectly. She’s very happy, and I’m happy because it’s keeping her busy so I can get some stuff done around the house.Hoping I can find some time to do the next one with her because it does seem like a lot of fun and they have some great colors. My daughter is 5 years old for reference.

Easy calming craft.
I bought this from Michael's, along with a bigger, unicorn design and the separate, larger packs of the micro mosaics material. My twelve year old daughter and I had a nice time working on the larger, unicorn design. However, when I got out the smaller pieces of this set, I did experience some of the stickiness problems that others have complained about. However, upon watching a YouTube video, I discovered how much of the material the manufacturer wants you to use. Well, I thought that was silly, but I did build up a slightly thicker layer than it looked like in the packaging photos and had much better luck. I also ran my fingers around the indentations of the design to kind of "clean up" or "dull down" the surface of the paper. I also pressed VERY firmly. This combination seemed to work well. I do worry about them popping off if we try to hang these in her room or something. I wonder if a layer of Mod Podge would seal everything nicely. I will probably try that on one of my smaller designs and see how it goes. The age suggestion is 8+ and, while this seems like something appropriate for younger kids, it apparently is not due to the patience and technique necessary to apply the product. My daughter finds it very calming after a stressful day at school and we plan on buying more.

Love it! But definitely not for young children!
I received this kit for my birthday--I enjoy crafts like this as a way to unwind. I think the kit is great and the colors it comes with are awesome. I was actually impressed by how far each of the colors go, especially if you're putting down a single layer of foam beads on your sheets. You get a block of each color that measures 1.25 x 1.25 x 1.5 inches. It definitely takes some time to complete these mosaics, and I would not recommend them for anyone younger than 10. It requires lots of fine motor skills and patience to make sure the foam sticks where you want it and I can see young children getting frustrated with it. If you have some tools on hand like sculpting tools, they can be useful in getting things exactly where you want them. As you continue to stick the foam beads down, they start to want to stick to your finger more than the actual template, so be aware of that.

Sticky mess
Purchased from Michael’s.Whatever you do...don’t try this. It’s a load of sticky stupidness that makes you throw things (mainly just the box of stickiness). For the record, my kids didn’t like it at all either. The orbs stick to your fingers, not the paper. Videos online show users heaping the orbs on the picture-meaning you’ll have enough to make about 1 large project or a few smaller ones.

I bought this from Michaels so not from a Amazon ...
I bought this from Michaels so not from a Amazon but I wanted to review it. I bought for my daughter who loves creative art project and it was the most frustrating and disappointing project. The beads stick more on fingers than the paper and it’s very difficult to complete. My daughter got so frustrated we ended up just coloring in the picitures
