Great speed, good performance
tried a few storage units to try and alleviate how many files I was storing on my computer. Moving the files from my computer to external SSD fixed my computers performance problem. File transfer from my 2018 MacBook (which only supports thunderbolt 1) was ridiculously fast compared to the USB-A I was using before. Can't wait to try it on a machine that supports thunderbolt 3. It does get pretty warm but with my setup its easy to put it in a place where I don't touch it much

iMac boot drive
I’m using this as the boot drive for a 2017 iMac, replacing the original fusion drive. It’s fast, and has worked flawlessly. It does get warm but the heatsink helps.

Fast and small travel size
I travel a lot for work and need a reliable SSD to store files and backups. The rocket nano has fast upload and download transfers. I work with video files so this is important. The 1tb storage is just enough for on the go workloads. The design is compact, portable and sleek. It fits easily in my palm while I move around on the job. The silicon protect helps with heat dissipation which helps because it does get hot. The cost is well worth it for the functionality and reliability.

Grat product fast at last
At last i can get a good speed from an external SSD. Thanks GROK for expaining why various fast SSD were slow plugged into my Mac Studio and recommending this excellent product. Thank you apple for misleading us and not warning that the USB/Thunderbolt ports are slow and SSD vendors for now qualifying compatible with but slow!

My main drive I use for 4K editing.
I use this drive as my main editing drive for editing 4k video with DaVinci Resolve. For each job I load them into a separate folder on this drive. drive. I can have multiple folders with multiple different jobs and then once the drive starts getting full then I back that up to another external slower drive for backup purposes. This drive is plenty fast enough for any kind of 4k editing that we do.

It's small and hot
Even at idle it's running about 120 degrees F. It is as quick as they say it is. I got 2.3 gigabits per second write and 2.7 gigabits per second read, via Thunderbolt 3 port. I'm using this drive to host various large virtual instrument libraries. Logic Pro seems to work well with its library remotely located on this SSD. Due to the heat this gives off, I like to power down my mac and peripherals at night, or when I am away.

Attenzione, per avere la velocità thunderbolt su macbook pro you need to connect the disk directly to one of the thunderbolt ports. If you connect to a port of a usb-c hub, such as on the back of the studio display, you just obtain usb-c speed.

Although I haven't had extensive experience with the Sabrent ROCKET XTRM PLUS 2TB external SSD yet I have found it to be a reliable, extremely well built and super fast solid state drive, (via Thunderbolt 3). As I understand it it will also support the newer fast transfer protocol via a USB-C port although I can't recall the name. I've had no problems moving files of all sizes and types to the Sabrent drive, but my main use will be for storing file backups and system images although I know I'd still have considerable room on the SSD for keeping non-related data. As the Sabrent ROCKET XTRM PLUS 2TB external SSD supports two fast data transfer systems, (including the default mode should you not have a PC supporting fast data transfer), it is a very versatile SSD and certainly gets the job done. I have found that I can transfer data and read it back at speeds well exceeding 25Gb/s and so read and write times, especially with large files, are noticeably quicker. The construction of the Sabrent ROCKET XTRM PLUS SSD is top notch and the electronic are housed in a solid aluminium body within a rubber jacket with a reassuring 'weight' to it. From what I've discovered so far the Sabrent ROCKET XTRM PLUS is likely to go the distance and the speed advantages are great. Yes it is costly but I feel I made a worthwhile purchase here and hope to enjoy years of use from the Sabrent ROCKET XTRM PLUS external SSD.

Expensive but well worth it. I use these drives for editing UHD video and with the supplied cable the drives are fast enough to read the content as if on the laptop. I have many of these drives.
