It’s cheap and great material for my pool area. I used it to keep my kid out of areas that they are not allowed in. The locks are fairly sturdy and the signs are great for notifying people that it’s locked and to keep out of there. But I think it’s a great buy

Alright, here's my take as an EL01 electrician, having spent the majority of my time an inside wireman working commercial and industrial worksites. Right off the bat, what struck me about this kit is the sheer volume of lockout devices included. It looks like they’ve tried to cover pretty much every common electrical disconnect you’d encounter, then they multiply that by 1-5 devices for each disconnect, that's what you get with this kit! Having a comprehensive set like this in one package is definitely a plus for ensuring you've got the right tool for the job, no matter what you're facing. The bright red bag is a nice touch for visibility on a busy job site, and the "Lock-out Kit" printing is clear and unmistakable, which is crucial for safety compliance. My initial tests were to lock out two circuits, at the electrical panel circuit breakers. This was quick and easy if you're familiar with which specific lockout device to use, however for the inexperienced user, no instructions are provided with this kit, to secure both LOTO devices onto the Actuator lever of each circuit breaker. That being said, once installed, this product did give me the confidence that the circuit would remain de-energized while I was working. And that's the fundamental requirement, and on that front, it seems to deliver. However, the bag situation is a bit of a letdown. It’s essentially just one big pouch, that holds all the different equipment together. I like to keep my, truck, toolbox, and work area organized. So when I need to search within this bag for the specific lockout device needed, especially safety-critical gear like this, it's a pain. You'll be digging around to find what you need instead of having it readily accessible. Time is money on a job site, and fumbling for the right lockout isn't efficient. On that note, this kit is priced to move, and you can tell. The build quality on some of these components screams "made in China," mostly plastic construction, and that is stated on many of the pieces. Now, I'm not saying it won't work – as I mentioned, the initial tests were fine. But as a seasoned electrician, I know that durability and reliability are paramount, especially when it comes to safety gear. So, for the price, you're getting a lot of pieces, however, you might be sacrificing some long-term durability for it. For contractors or handymen who occasionally need to perform electrical lockout and are looking for an affordable, all-in-one kit, this might fit the bill. However, for those who rely on this equipment daily and need absolute certainty in its reliability and safety, I'd say proceed with caution. While it is functional for basic tasks, the lack of bag organization, and the quality of the pieces, make it unlikely suited for daily use. Personally, I'd lean towards investing in higher-quality, individually certified lockout devices from reputable manufacturers. Your safety and the safety of your crew are worth the extra cost. This kit could serve as a backup or for very light-duty applications, but for serious commercial work, I'd likely look elsewhere for something more robust and with verifiable safety certifications.
